Jordan Threloff is a skilled big man (6'10") who will be a senior at Dekalb High School in the fall.
He was recently offered a scholarship by Bradley.
The guys at IllinoisPrepBullseye.com are the first to report this publically--
http://www.ilprepbullseye.com/page50.html
However, many members here already knew about this because I have been PM'ing with many of you about the recent upswing in recruiting interest that Bradley coaches had in Threloff.

Yes, the guys at Ilprepbullseye are apparently one of the first to report this "PUBLICLY"
and they even say this in their blurb...
"Seeing as though this is breaking information, hopefully the people over at
the Bradley recruiting site will be as quick to give us credit as they seem to
be when others break recruiting news."
I guess they mean BradleyFans.com, and indeed we have given them credit (Da Coach just did), so it proves they are reading us...
But back in April, Big Mike hinted on this board that Bradley had offered Threloff or was close to doing so (we often leave things like this vague as a courtesy to our coaching staff so we don't hinder recruiting efforts).
however...we've been talking privately about Jordan Threloff for a while, and since their story is posted at 9PM yesterday (May 20), we had heard of the Threloff offer several days earlier.
Now, I hope they're not mad about that, they do a good job of covering the Chicago area!

Threloff has reportedly had tremendous improvement just since the middle of this past season. I have seen where Tim Jankovich had had him as ISU's #1 big man target a long time ago (I think SIU did, too). I suspect he will end going higher than the MVC. He sounds a lot like Jack Cooley from the class of 2009. Cooley was not rated in most Top 25s in his junior year, but jumped to the top of the big men in the state over last summer and signed with Notre Dame.
Here is a listing of 2010 players in Illlinois that had Threloff listed at #128 just 2 years ago.

Then last September, another scout ranked him #24 among 2010 kids-
see the 4th post-

Currently, some sites have him in the Top 10-

Of the schools Threloff has to choose from, only one has sent a BIG MAN to the NBA any time in the past 3 decades!
If it were me, the choice would be a slam dunk........

Nice article about Dekalb's Jordan Threloff-
http://www.daily-chronicle.com/articles/2009/07/10/29054764/index.xml
Threloff's current offer list, in chronological order, is Northern Illinois, Indiana State, Southern Illinois, Detroit, Wisconsin-Milwaukee, Loyola (Chicago), Illinois State, DePaul, Bradley and Drake.

Prediction-
he'll wait, take the biggest offer, go to DePaul, hate it there, never play, then leave looking for more playing time.
I actually hope sincerely he proves me wrong...but Terrence Williams, John Brandenburg, Brett Thompson, Jason
Bennett and a gazillion other kids have made the same mistake.
One thing in that article.....it says his high school drops DOWN a class this year and now plays in 3A...
they make it sound like that's a good thing...?

Joe Henricksen of the Chicago Sun Times has a story on AAU basketball, with a mention of Jordan Threloff--
http://blogs.suntimes.com/hoopsreport/
Though some sources completely omit Bradley when listing the schools Threloff is considering, Bradley is still in the picture-
Big man Jordan Threloff, a 6-9 center from DeKalb, will be narrowing things down as Illinois State, Drake, Western Michigan, Bradley, Northern Illinois and DePaul are all in the mix.

Article from Chicago Sun Times about uncommitted 2010 kids in Illinois-

Bradley is linked with Jordan Threloff and Rayvonte Rice, but I have heard they are involved with others on the list, too.

Congrats to ISU here... thats a great recruit to get!
I really wanted Threloff at BU...he is a great recruit --but for the school I hate the most:x If we didn't get him, I certainly didn't want a Valley team to land him...sounds like academics were a big factor-

"even with threloff now in the fold, the redbird coaching staff is not necessarily done when it comes to recruiting the class of 2010. They would still very much like to land 6'8 forward phillip jackson from hyde park academy in chicago and there could be a way for them to have room for jackson despite their current scholarship situation. We will continue to watch that closely and could have more on that development in the near future."
jank 'em! ;) ;)
