I hope I have the spelling right. Do any of our Peoria people have any info on this 2011 prospect. I was told he is on the Braves radar.. and SIUC is bringing him in for a visit this weekend.

I have seen Hoerdemann play and since he is still just going to be a junior, the strong interest by even some big schools is because he could still grow taller and develop.
However, at this point, I would still have to say he is a lot like Dyricus Simms-Edwards....kind of a tweener...
not a good enough ball handler to really be a top D-I PG, and at 6-2, simply not a BCS-type SG.
I think it's 50-50 he will still end up as a mid-major player but he also might end up at Iowa as that's the type of player they've been going after lately.
...and a few Valley schools are on to him...but I have never yet heard that he has any interest in BU.

BTW-- I have a question........
Who was the last Bloomington (or Bloomington area)player to play and have a nice career at ISU?
I don't mean guys like Brandon Holtz...a great kid but never more than a deep bench player...I mean someone who was either a starter or key sub who made a difference on the court?
I really don't know the answer -- maybe one of the ISU fans can supply the answer...
but isn't it odd, that it has certainly been a long, long time....

By contrast BU will have one Bloomington player as well as a couple Peoria area players (Dyricus & JP), plus BU has had others (JC, Ruff, Cellus, Danny Adams..) in recent years too.

a new interview of Hayden Hoerdemann...
He names ISU as recruiting him, almost as an afterthought...these are his own words...
"I've got about 25 schools that have been showing me interest and 15 that
have been calling me..

The main ones are probably Harvard, Princeton, Butler, Wichita State,
Northwestern, Xavier and most of the Missouri Valley has been contacting me."

Loyola, William & Mary, Iowa State and Western Michigan have also shown
Hoerdemann interest Iowa and Illinois send the BCC junior a letter every day,
he said. He also talks to Illinois State and Eastern Illinois

"I was going to go to (the ISU) Hoop Fest on Friday but our football team
played (so Hoerdemann went to his HS's FB game instead)
.. I'm probably going to go to Eastern sometime to see their campus and see
a game."
Hoerdemann said he also plans on visiting Xavier, Butler and Northwestern. He
said he'd also like take a short trip to Champaign to take in an Illini game."
