Iowa got a committment from a class of 2007 player from Dairese Gary from Elkhart, Indiana. Bradley had also been recruiting him and had offered a scholarship. He committed on a visit this weekend to Iowa.

But here are a couple clips from it--
One of the top juniors from the state of Indiana is staying in Big Ten country. After a weekend unofficial visit, Dairese Gary of Elkhart (Ind.) Concord Community ended his recruitment.

He is one of the state of Indiana’s top prospects in the 2007 class. Dairese Gary, a 6-foot-1 combo guard who averaged 13 points as a sophomore at Concord Community popped Saturday night.

Iowa began recruiting Gary as a freshman shortly after they spotted him with Indiana Elite at an AAU event. He then attended the Hawkeyes elite camp and the love affair continued.

“I was looking at other schools but Iowa was probably the first on my list out of any school that I was looking at.” Bradley and Western Michigan stepped up and offered. However, interest was beginning to mount from Notre Dame, Purdue, Michigan State, Illinois and Xavier.

One Indiana recruiting site has him ranked as the best point guard in Indiana for the class of 2007.

Here is another ranking of 2007 players in Indiana, and he is listed as the #14 player

As has been reported before, Jim Les and the Bradley staff continue to do a great job aggressively recruiting not only in Illinois, but in Indiana, Minnesota, Wisconsin, and other states. It's great to see Bradley's name mentioned with many Big Ten programs recruiting this kid.

Here is a link (sorry, it's also a subscription article) to a June 7 article that states--
Gary...already has offers from Iowa and Purdue. This summer he hopes to visit other schools to get a feel for other programs.

And the links above also mention that Illinois and Michigan State had also been recruiting him.

One of the Wisconsin recruiting sites says this:

also:
"Illinois State’s recruiting path points to Wisconsin

Illinois State is involved with a number of players in Wisconsin in the class of 2007, including Matt Dorlack of New Berlin Eisenhower, Andrew Zimmerann of Oostburg, Charlie Chapman of Arrowhead, Anthony Hill of Milwaukee Bradley Tech and Will Hudson of Middleton, among others."

April 20th Rivals article on Matt Dorlack, 6'11 center from New Berlin, WI

http://rivalshoops.rivals.com/content.asp?CID=536388

"When it comes to Dorlack and his recruitment, he has quite a few options to consider at this stage. Many schools at the mid to high major level have expressed a sincere interest in the Wisconsin big man.

'Wisconsin-Milwaukee is really interested in me," said Dorlack. "I am going up there for an unofficial visit on Thursday (today). Bradley, Valparaiso, Oakland, American, Ball State, Davidson, Purdue and Virginia are the other schools that have called.

"I don't know if I will take any official visits in the fall," he added. "I might be ready to decide before then. I am not leaning one way or another right now, but I will probably make a decision on a school before fall.

Montrel Clark, 6'11 center from King HS in Milwaukee, is another big from Wisconsin. I searched scout and rivals, but neither list any info. I wonder if Les & Co. have seen him.

Dairese Gary, who had committed to Iowa over recruiting interest from Bradley, was released from his LOI after Steve Alford left Iowa.
He is a point guard from Elkhart, Indiana.

Now he has recommitted to Steve Alford at New Mexico--
