Bradley plays at Loyola Wednesday, Nov. 30, at 7:00pm. The game is in the Gentile Center, a 5000 seat arena on the lakefront campus. They are averaging 1,941 attendance. There will likely be twice that at this game.

Bradley is 2-0 and Loyola is 3-0.

Cellus had 2 big steals in the last 38 seconds and Tony Bennett hit 2 clutch free throws with 2.4 seconds left to put Bradley ahead 63-62. Cellus had perhaps his best game at Bradley scoring 27 points and 12 rebounds.

Hope you are right. Watched them against Evansville. They play great defense and can flat out shoot the ball. (They play on the same court they practice on.) I think also BU should win this game but don't hold your breath.

Any people planning to go to the Loyola game?
I am going to try to get there.

Just like they did prior to the DePaul game, the Alumni Office has planned a Pre-Game Party prior to the Loyola game.

The last event had good food and drinks and the coach spoke to the large crowd. Bayo Akinkunle also was there and talked briefly. Come and support the Braves!

It just dawned on me that I'm going to be in the suburbs for work this week and BU is playing in the Chicago area as well, do any of you know the best way to get my hands on some tickets? I looked at Ticketmaster and Loyola's website, and didn't find even a number to call to get tickets. I wonder if I'd be OK to just go and get them at the door?

Thanks, I actually had just found that too. They sure don't seem to push single game tickets very much.

I said this in June, and I will say it again - this will be our toughest non-conference game, especially without POB and Will.

Will the Western Kentucky game be tougher?

Will the Western Kentucky game be tougher?

I don't think so. I think they're on par with Loyola, and we'll be at home.

Isn't it ironic that we will have played WKU twice in the last 9 months, and POB will have been suspended for both games?

Loyola just might play a good game, but as I look over their first 3 games & exhibitions, I am not impressed.

Their preseason exhibition was against Robert Morris (NAIA Division II), and Loyola was lucky to get out with a 6 point win at home.
Then they won a close one against IPFW, a team that will likely lose 20 games this season, even though their schedule is loaded with Longwoods, Texas Pan Americans, North and South Dakotas, and even a couple D-III's
Then they beat Evansville at home, a team that's picked by many to beat out ISU for 10th place in the Valley.
Then they won a 70-55 game against D-III Luther (Iowa), after trailing well into the 2nd half.
Loyola's go-to guy is Schilb, and he is turnover prone (5 against Robert Morris & IPFW and 6 against Evansville), so if BU can stop him, they can stop Loyola.

I saw the Loyola game against Evansville. They have some new guys that are nice players. I don't think you can just concentrate on Schilb this year. This may be the best Loyola team in a long time.

JR Blount, a freshman guard from Milwaukee, is a very good shooter.
Chris Logan, a JuCo transfer, is another guard who can shoot and is very quick. He gave Evansville fits.
Majak Kou is their 2nd leading scorer and is very athletic. He can shoot 3's and can take the ball to the basket well.
Leon Young is a 6'6" inside player with a wide body. He played a lot against Evansville and looked very good at posting up and getting the ball in the basket or getting fouled.
Tom Levin is a 6'8", thin forward, who is a smart player who shoots and passes well.
And they have a few other kids who haven't played much this season, but are good players-- Tracy Robinson is 6'8" and can handle the ball like a guard (he played guard in high school) and shoots well, Dave Telander is a good shooter and played well against Bradley last season, and Pierre Parker is another quick guard (he's the younger brother of Tony Parker of the San Antonio Spurs). They also have another big kid with potential, Darrin Williams, a redshirt freshman who's 6'8", 240 lbs.

I actually agree with BradleyBrave that this may be the toughest game for Bradley of the next 6 non-conf games. Loyola, on paper, shouldn't be as good as DePaul was, but I actually think Bradley will have a harder time beating them. I am predicting a close game, and likely the first loss of the season.

Remember Loyola shot lights out against the aces! If we give them open looks it will be a long night!

I hope BU wears them down with their depth.
Loyola has only 7 players who play more than 5 minutes per game.
BU has 8 who play 10 minutes or more, and 10 who play 7.5 minutes or more.

I'm pretty nervous about this game. Bradley is the better team, but on the road they're really going to have to be up for the game to win.

Does Loyola have a message board and do you have a link?

Yes, I am surprised someone hasn't posted it.

Loyola message board:
http://p206.ezboard.com/framblermaniafrm1

I am somewhat surprised when I look at this fan site/message board, as it is fairly active with 10-12 new topics added every day, except that it seem to be cluttered with discussion on all kinds of topics from Capitol punishment to political stuff.
I really cannot find even one actual basketball discussion unless you go back four days to this:
http://p206.ezboard.com/framblermaniafrm1.showMessage?topicID=6446.topic

...and none regarding the upcoming game with BU, even though the posters names (whitesellisgood, Rambler63, callitbothways, etc) suggest they are basketball fans.
They do have one mention of BU back on 11/23 with a single post noting the suspension of two BU players:
http://p206.ezboard.com/framblermaniafrm1.showMessage?topicID=6439.topic

Check it out, but I'll suspect you'll agree it's a terrible site if you're looking for discussion on Loyola basketball.

Wow, I checked out that Loyola message board, and it is easily the worst excuse for a basketball fan site I have ever seen. Compared with Bradleyfans.com, the difference is staggering. Evety thread is just a few "people" calling others names and making political rants or nonsensical statements. I couldn't find one single discussion with even the tiniest bit of useful information about Loyola, or anything related to their team, schedule, games, etc. I also could not find a single poster who posted a link to inform, or to substantiate an opinion.

I know I am an information freak, but maybe just once they could try to post something intelligent or useful.

I agree BU fan, although what we find as the Evansville site also kinda sux, and the link one of the posters gave several days ago for the Chicago State message board takes you to one that's maybe even worse than the Loyola message board, if that's possible.

Not only do they have a crappy website, their athletic department seems to have very little interest in selling any tickets for the game. I will have a group of over 20 people coming with me (probably the biggest bulk sale they've ever had), and the ticket office doesn't seem to want to sell me tickets very badly, as they refuse to return my calls.

Hey, BB, I called them last week about tickets and said they had no way to sell tickets over the phone!!! They must be stuck in the 1950's. But they told me to talk to the Bradley ticket office because they set aside 800 tickets behind the Bradley bench and sent them down to Peoria.

Sure enough, I checked with the BU ticket office and they had about 800 tickets left! And they were discounted because of some special Group Deal. They were only $8.00 each. So, if you still need tickets, I would suggest calling them and find out who now has them and where you could meet them before they turn them back in to the Loyola people.

I just talked to the BU ticket office, and they can't sell over the phone either. I will just have to make other arrangements. Oh well. My group will get their tickets one way or the other!

This discussion forces the obvious,
that many of us posters are very impressed and thankful for the Bradleyfans board.

Just wanted to say thanks, and show appreciation for one of the better and more informative fan boards around.

There is finally a discussion going on the Loyola board about tonight's game.
If you want to read what the posters are saying, here's the link:
http://p206.ezboard.com/framblermaniafrm1.showMessage?topicID=6487.topic
http://p206.ezboard.com/framblermaniafrm1.showMessage?topicID=6488.topic

Also, a second thread does kinda make some fun of Peoria, so I guess they do have a couple of juveniles posting:
http://p206.ezboard.com/framblermaniafrm1.showMessage?topicID=6489.topic

and lastly, one of their few posters has read the Bradleyfans thread on the game and they've started a discussion about what we are saying about their board.
http://p206.ezboard.com/framblermaniafrm1.showMessage?topicID=6478.topic

The one poster who seems to do roughly half of all the posting on their board is a guy named "BigJoe1963" whose profile contains more than anyone would ever want to know about anyone, describing all his heroics in the third person:
http://p206.ezboard.com/bramblermania.showUserPublicProfile?gid=bigjoe1963

And he appears as though he might be the moderator of the board, but certainly is one of the only active posters with more than a handful of posts.
I think I can detect a little bit of message board-envy in their comments.
