He was in Chicago Sunday covering the ESPN game between the White Sox and Astros. He had just returned to his Massachusetts home Monday. He suffered a stroke Tuesday morning due to an aneurysm.
I have always liked Gammons. He seems like a tireless worker at his trade, and he is very well respected among his peers as shown by them electing him to the HOF. I hope he recovers OK. He's only 61, I thought he was a little older. Too young for a stroke.

Peter Gammons, although heavily biased and preoccupied with East Coast teams -- the Yankees and BoSox in superparticular (as if the midwest didn't exist at all), is definitely one of the most knowledgable baseball alanysts, nevertheless.
I wish him a quick recovery. I have always enjoyed watching and listening to him.
