What POB might be able to make

The hottest free agent this year is Ben Wallace, but he will get a contract in the range of 15 million a year over 5 years.

But the next hottest free agents are a pair of journeyman centers. Because of the lack of true quality pivot men, there will be a bidding war for the services of Joel Przybilla and Nazr Mohammed. The Bulls are one of 5 or 6 teams desperately in need of a center. The offers for these 2 guys could go as high as 7 or 8 million a year or more.

This could be Patrick O'Bryant in a few years if he can hang around the NBA.

Joel Przybilla averaged 6.1 points, 7.0 rebounds, and 2.3 blocks a game.
Mohammed averaged 6.2 ppg and 5.2 rpg last season and was not as good a shot blocker as Przybilla.

Does anyone think POB can average those kinds of numbers in a few years? I do.

Average 7-footers seem to hang around basketball like average specialty left handed pitchers in baseball.

Along the line of what an NBA center might be able to make, is this story.

The Denver Nuggets just signed a BACKUP CENTER, Nene.
$60 million for SIX years.
(not too bad considering the Nuggets just extended superstar Carmello Anthony's contract for $80 mil/5 years)

But just how good is Nene?
Like many stars from Brazil, he goes by only one name, and he is a 6-11 F/C who tore up his knee in the very first game of the 2005-2006 season (on opening night) and didn't play again all year. So for the 2005-2006 season he played 1 game, 3 minutes, ZERO points. He also missed 27 games in 2004-2005 due to injury, so in four seasons he is averaging being available for only about 50 games per year.
His career averages are 10.7 ppg, 6.2 rpg.

His knee is surgically repaired but he is still in the rehab process and won't even be able to take part in full court workouts for another TWO months.
