Chicago High School Coaches Fired

this is a bizarre and developing story...and at least two prominent Chicago head basketball coach has already been canned.

Word started leaking out of some of the Chicago Public League coaches hitting their players, and before long, numerous other kids have come forward with stories of their high school basketball coaches hitting and paddling them.

As many as NINE different Chicago high school basketball coaches are under investigation, with several possibly going to lose their jobs.

One is head coach Robert Smith at Simeon who coached Derrick Rose, another is Morgan Park's Mandel Oliver, and yet another is
Marshall High School, the reigning state champs, had their head coach fired tonight. Courtney Hargrays was terminated for allegedly breaking a state law that bans corporal punishment.
Hargrays coached SIU's Ryan Hare last year.

Simeon is presently 2-5 , perhaps the worst record in years after 7 games,
but they've played several close games against good opponents.
...but they are still ranked #14 in the Chicago area.

however...recall that the Chief of the Chicago Public Schools, Arne Duncan, probably isn't interested in this stuff any more...
he was named to be the Education Secretary under Obama.
