With the Valley season over, some of our non-conference foes are still playing. Their success or lack thereof, could determine Bradley's fate on March 12th.

DePaul--done. Did Not Qualify for the Big East Tournament
Tennessee Tech--done. Lost in OVC semi-finals
Loyola--done. Lost in Horizon semi-finals
Bowling Green--not expected to do much in the MAC Tourney
Southern Miss--not expected to do much in CUSA Tourney
Chicago State--not expected to do much in Mid-Con Tourney
Delaware State--#1 seed in MEAC Tourney
Western Kentucky--#1 seed in Sun Belt Tourney
Butler--plays at UW-Milwaukee for Horizon Tourney Title

As it stands, only Del State can give us a big boost (and it won't be much). Butler will have it tough against Milwaukee on the Panthers' home floor. Western Kentucky should win the SBC, but should get a stiff challenge from South Alabama.

Nice work and well said.

Thing is, Bradley is not in the 'warning zone' as far as the bubble is concerned. They are not and will not be considered one of the last 4 in.

Bradley is IN.

Book it.

I like your optimism MM. I think Bradley has the goods to be in the mix this year. Our saving grace is that we popped UNI twice this year. To me, they played the best non-conference schedule of any Valley team, and they played pretty well against it too. People say BU needs a good look because of the 8-game suspension O'Bryant had to start the season. Well, we went 6-2 without him! Could he have made the difference against Butler or Loyola on the road? Maybe. We'll never know. However, we went 2-4 when he came back to the lineup! Since then, we've played very well for the most part. For me, there are still too many games left to be played in other conferences---major or not. We have to hope for no upsets, although they usually happen this time of year. My guess is that 3 or 4 teams we don't expect to win their tournaments will do the trick this time. So who suffers? Nevada? George Mason? Bradley? Creighton? Bucknell? Western Kentucky? Hofstra? Syracuse? I guess BU has the advantage over every one of these teams with the exception of Nevada. It's very close between us, Hofstra, and GMU--and Hofstra still has a chance to qualify outright with a win over UNCW in Richmond Monday. That would put the Seahawks on the bubble. Then there's Syracuse. They probably don't belong in the field this year, and I don't expect them to suddenly get hot in New York next week. In the back of my mind though, I can't see Jim Boeheim getting left out of the field if they win 20 games. Coach B might be the first to tell you that his team may not have the credentials to be seriously considered, but he would say they play in the toughest league in America, and that may be right. Still, they lost at DePaul by 39. To me, that entire performance was worse than our second half showing against the Salukis in St. Louis Sunday. Still, I'm not convinced BU gets in over the Orangemen if it came down to us two and the last slot, for example. Trust me, I want to see Bradley on the board next Sunday, but I won't go ballistic if it does not happen. Playing in the NIT would be OK, since we get a chance to play a little more hoops before I start mowing my lawn !

I don't think we have to worry too much. I believe the guys played their way into the tourney this weekend. Joe Lunardi of ESPN has us in easily, the only teams he has on the bubble is MS, and Creighton. In order he said Southern is in, Wichita State is next, Then Bradley, then UNI. Those 4 are locks he siad!! That's some good news!!

Lunardi has only missed 1 pick in either the last 4 or 5 years.

Just being the nervous nelly that I am, these are the teams that BU should be concerned about this week regarding the RPI (BU stands at #34):

31. Cincinnati
33. Indiana
36. Michigan
37. UNC-Wilmington
38. Air Force
39. Kentucky
40. NC State
41. Georgetown
43. Syracuse
44. UAB
45. Arkansas
46. Alabama
47. Maryland
48. Seton Hall
49. Texas A & M
52. Colorado
53. Western Kentucky
56. Florida St
59. California

BU could get some firmer footing tonight if Gonzaga and Hofstra win.

Just to update the status of Bradley's non-conference opponents heading into Tuesday night's games:

Bowling Green--done. Lost in MAC first round.
Chicago State--done. Lost in Mid-Con title game! A couple of wins by the Cougars may have done us some good.
Western Kentucky--done. Lost in Sun Belt final to a South Alabama team that just wanted it more. Thanks for the help, Hilltoppers!
Southern Mississippi--beat Tulsa in a CUSA first round upset. Next up, #3 seeded UTEP (go Golden Eagles!).
Butler--lost in the Horizon final to UW-Milwaukee.
Delaware State--begins play in the MEAC tournament in Richmond tonight (go Hornets!).

Loyola, DePaul, and Tennessee Tech were done as of Saturday night. They may show up on the NIT board next week.

To update how some of these teams have done -

31. Cincinnati - Lost to Syracuse, dropping.
33. Indiana
36. Michigan
37. UNC-Wilmington - Won Colonial championship, moved up.
38. Air Force
39. Kentucky
40. NC State
41. Georgetown - Beat Notre Dame, moved up.
43. Syracuse - Beat Cincinnati, moved up.
44. UAB
45. Arkansas
46. Alabama
47. Maryland
48. Seton Hall - Lost to Rutgers, dropping.
49. Texas A & M
52. Colorado
53. Western Kentucky - Lost in Sun Belt Championship, dropping.
56. Florida St
59. California

BU has remained steady around 32-35 this week, which is good. Barring an unforseen amount of wins by teams around us, that's where we should remain all week.

It's been a good day for BU so far. Southern Miss pulled the C-USA upset over Tulsa, and Delaware St won their 1st round game 59-47. Let's hope Coach Mo's Gophers can help out BU by knocking off Michigan tomorrow!

keep in mind that teams like goergetown & ncstate will get in, the yare already ranked. so we dont need to "worry" about them.
