What to do with last scholarship

With the news of Sam's sixth year. I wonder what we will do to use our last scholarship.

We have a fairly well set team. A outside shooter would be a great addition, but not a great weakness with AW coming back.

I may be spoiled from the late signings of Taylor Brown and commitment from John Wilkins. I think we should just stay after some great guards that look like a dream like Darius Smith or even Vee Sanford. Then if we strike out (Seems likely) we still have the flexibilty to take a transfer or sign someone we see late like last year. If we totally come up empty it isn't the end of the world.

Here would be my priority list for how the last scholarship should be used:

1. A shooter
2. A dude that can shoot
3. A guy that can shoot
4. Someone that can shoot

Even with Warren coming back next year, we are not a good shooting team overall. Dunson and Roberts will be seniors next year, so you need to continue to add shooters to replace them...

Vee Sanford would be a great fit, I think...A 6'3" or bigger shooting guard from high school would be ideal.

We've got enough young quality post players to be successful in the Valley...we've got to find a way to get back to the point where 3-point shooting is a strength of this team again...

I think we've played the "athleticism" card too many times in regards to JL's recent commits. It's time to get back to the basics. We need a cerebral guy who can shoot the basketball.

Ask Blagojevich to sell the scholarship for us

hahahaha!! If we did that, we'd never see the money, he would refuse to give the scholarship back, and would then give it to one of the least deserving people possible. Then the recruit would come in and refuse to leave for 4 years even though he never attended one class and had no intention of doing so. Then it would come out that he was approached by Crieghton, SIU, and IllSt boosters to take money to sabotage our practices and possibly try to trip or hurt AW, SM, DD, CR, WE, MK, JP.... Our recruit would then change his story so many times people would give up cause nobody knows what the hell is going on anymore!

ER3 you forgot a

5. Larry Bird clone or HH clone
6. Someone with the words "downtown" in his nickname

it would definitely be nice to add a shooter with the last scholarship, but no matter who we get, they probably will have a hard time seeing the floor at all next year, so it really doesn't matter that much.

I think it always matters. There's always a long term goal, plus possible injuries and defections. The coaching staff does have the luxury of going in different ways since there isn't a pressing need that hasn't been filled with a scholarship. They can even go after project (redshirt) or a transfer (sit one year).

By my count, Bradley will have
3 centers (Singh, Thompson & Egolf)
3 forwards (Brown, Knezevic & Prosser)
2 wing players (Warren & Roberts)
4 guards (Dunson, Maniscalco, Norris & McCain)

Bradley will have 3 seniors, 2 juniors, 5 sophomores and 2 freshmen. The freshmen class looks small, but adds 2 players the following year (Harris & Wilkins).

I'm on board with the recruitment of a good shooter. I don't think you can have too many good shooters in Coach Les' offense.

I don't disagree, a pure shooter would definitely be my preference, and I realize that whoever gets the last scholarship could be a big factor in the future. I just meant that in terms of next year's success, there is basically nobody left out there that would have any impact.
