Former Bradley recruit Darrious Curry

Da Coach

One of the top recruits for Bradley this fall has been Darrious Curry. Some Bradley "insiders" know about Curry, but he has mostly stayed "under the radar". Curry is a 6'6", 180 lb. wing player at Houston Stratford High School. He played last year at Humble, Texas Christian Life High School. He is a left hander, and a good shooter and ball-handler.

Yesterday, he committed to University of Texas-El Paso. He picked UTEP over interest from Bradley, Arkansas, and others.

This is a premium article about his commitment (won't be able to see without password)-

One of the players Bradley recruited, Darrious Curry, had committed to UTEP. But with the coaching change there, he was released, and now has re-committed to West Virginia.

Here are a couple clips from the article-
Darrious Curry, who signed with UTEP during the early signing period, was recently released from his letter of intent after the Miners hired Tim Floyd to replace Tony Barbee as the head of their basketball program. It took Curry less than two weeks to find a new home, as he signed a letter of intent with West Virginia on Monday, Apr. 26.
At the time of his signing with UTEP, Stratford High School head coach Mitch Hornsby had this evaluation of Curry: "Darrious is extremely explosive and he can shoot the three. He is really long, and he's not through growing. He is really athletic and a great leader. Even though he is in his first year with us, he has worked hard to be a part of our team, which says a lot about his character. He is one of the hardest-working kids that I've had. He is first in all of the sprints (at practice)."
Curry was also interested in Bradley and Alabama at the time of his signing with UTEP. Curry is a three-time all-district selection in Houston, with the last coming at Stratford High School in the city. He played his previous three seasons at Elsik High School. West Virginia could sign one more player in this class. The focus is on wing players such as Curry, but another guard could be a possibility as well.
