Daniel Ruffin's older brother AJ Guyton of Peoria Central was unexpectedly cut from his team in Argentina.

AJ had played in Europe the past several years but this season had signed with Lanus (Buenos Aires), a team in the top pro division in Argentina.

The Lanus club made a very nice offer and in July, lured Guyton to South America and planned to use him as their full time starting point guard.

now they have cut him loose.
Here is a blurb from Argentina...

"Lanus cut A.J. Guyton

Lanus decided to cut A.J. Guyton from the squad. The team
was not satisfied with the physical conditions of the player and they parted
ways. A.J. Guyton started the previous season in Greece playing for Larissa.
He later moved to Sweden to take up the invitation from the Sundsvall
Dragons. The 31-year-old guard averaged 14.6 points, 2.0 boards and 1.3
assists per game in the Basketligan."

tough break for AJ...hopefully he'll catch on with another team in time to start the season.

Tough break. I know he was planning to retire after this season, anyways, though. Maybe this will end his professional career.
