Way to Go DSE

Well, not to toot my own horn or anything, but yeah...

I do believe I said he will be the best PG on this team about a week ago, and that he was recruited by BCS schools for obvious reasons...

Oh, and realfan is right...We did get the better Washington grad! :)

To finish this up, it was refreshing to see a PG not dribble with his head down (PG1) or just dribble with no real purpose (PG2) and actually look to move the ball inside.

The other 2 PG's could really learn something from him....bring the ball up and either put it on the floor to go to the basket or pass it.

You are looking like the soothsayer on the DSE front for sure...hope it continues!

I said 2 years ago that DSE was the better player from Washington...I believe it more than ever...

This AM, JL mentioned that SM and DSE are the "toughness leaders" on this team. I think we'll be seeing a lot of DSE this season

How about less weight-lifting in the montage, and more boxing out? This 'toughness' thing is BS when you get worked in the paint like we do. In the paint and on the glass is where 'toughness' is shown, and we're getting used and abused down there.

I liked his no look passes (no telegraphing from him). We havn't had that since JC & DR and the other players better get ready for a pass at all times w/ DSE in the game. I also enjoyed the way he went to the basket from the top of the key. We havn't had that ability for a couple of years. I still maintain these are guys that benefit from having dads that are also coaches.

The thing I notice about DSE is that he plays with confidence. You can see the tentativeness in most frosh., but with DSE there's no fear. Whether it's making an interior pass that the other guards won't make, or taking a perimeter jump shot when the game is still in the balance. If he can improve his perimeter jump shot a bit (which he will) he'll be a great player. Oh...and that defense thing needs to improve. :))

JL said something on the postgame radio show about DSE being very tough in practice and even better when it's gametime. He said DSE loves it when the "lights come on" in the arena. I love hearing that about a freshman, especially a guard!

Yes, and its refreshing to hear about how a player who gets to play is better during the games than hearing about certain players who play so well in practice and then no show once its game time.

In HS we had this guy that was all world during practice, I mean made everything but game time he would just disappear. Then there were guys that had another level for games. It's great that we pick our guys to start because they bust their tails off at practice but how they play once the lights are on should also be part of the equation. Some guys are just not mentally equipped for prime time while others excel.

Yes...

We're talking about practice man.

We're talking about practice.

We're talking about practice.

We're not talking about the game.

We're talking about practice.
