There are two stories in the news..

-first the NCAA issues a whole bunch of spin and excuses for why "certain" infractions cases seem to take forever...yeah...rrrright.....
sounds like a whole bunch of double speak

...so is this why the USC guys have gotten away with cheating for years and still no investigation??

-Kansas has gotten caught cheating again...but you'll probably only hear about it here...and you'll likely never hear another thing about this batch of cheating...

...interesting that this seems to surround a guy who was fired from their athletic dept. a month ago and even then I said things looked suspicious...

Hmmm...guess what -- even after the facts point to the possibility that insiders at Kansas were taking prime tickets and tournament tickets, then selling them on the "Black Market" for the purpose of creating a big "slush fund" so they could benefit personally or hide cash payments, ahem, to you know where...

is it any surprise, that all the powerful, influiential Kansas alums and donors have all taken the exact same stance..
they are not the least bit interested in knowing any facts...
they just want the investigation ended and have already made up their mind that nothing wrong was done...so they will begin pulling their strings..
but does anyone actually think the NCAA will ever check, unless pressured to do so by the media and bloggers??
Hey - it's Kansas............had it been BU or Star trucking, there'd be five NCAA investigators on campus already!
(eg- Reggie Bush, OJ Mayo, Jim Calhoun violations have yet gone unpunished).

What do you expect?

This guy isn't labelled "The Cheat" for nothing....

Everywhere he goes, the money just flows...

Its like a constant reminder of the movie Blue Chips w/ Nick Nolte...

folks at Kansas doing a lot of spinning on this issue...but despite their claims to the contrary - this is a real issue.....

ah ha.....even though the Kansas people are saying nothing happened, nothing's been done wrong, and they are spinning like crazy...

I guess where's there's smoke there's fire...and the resignations have begun at Kansas in their athletic and fundraising departments...
http://blogs.pitch.com/plog/2010/04/kansas_associate_athletic_director_ben_kirtland_resigns.php

their top athletic department fund raising guy has just resigned...
Ben Kirtland... "Associate Athletics Director - Development"

even though Federal investigators are looking into this ticket selling scam and scandal because it appears even federal and tax laws were violated...
the NCAA is "hurrying along" at roughly the same pace they took in the Reggie Bush case..
and as expected, they just don't seem to care about scandals at Kansas..

BUT -- the news today is that a crooked, criminal politician/lawyer in Kansas is turning stool pigeon and singing in exchange for his sentence being reduced to probation...
BUT - the government stabbed the guy in the back after he testified about the ticket scandal and sentenced the guy hard!! He's ticked!!
http://cjonline.com/news/local/2010-04-22/developer_source_in_ku_ticket_scandal

I find it interesting that this ticket scandal at Kansas is big enough that it's resulting in shady plea bargaining deals and efforts to pry testimony out of crooks!! This is the kind of stuff that generally only happens in Chicago politics with guys like Blago!
