They must be uniformed haters for pointing this out. The last 5 years have been the golden age of BU basketball.

In all seriousness though, I agree with everything else.
 
They are wrong -- Bradley has contended every year -- but get beat out by other fine teams who are also contending.

If your definition of 'contending' is in the top half of the league, then I guess you are right.

What's the closest we've been to first at the end of the year, game-wise?

I wish I could say that we have contended but the correct banswer is we have not, contending means we were in the race until the final 2 to 3 games, the closest we have come was the tour. championship game we lost to SIU and went on to beat Kansas and Pit on our way to the sweet 16 but we never contended for a regular season title, this years team has a chance to contend and a good way to do it would be to win at Ind.St. and then beat Wichita St. at home , that would be a start which is something Bradley has not had for a long time.
 
Have we ever been within a game of the #3 seed? Maybe once or twice since 2001? Not sure how we're contending if we're not even close to 3rd place.

Maybe the definition of 'contending' is not playing in the play-in round. If that's the definition, then yes Tornado you are correct - We have contended every year since 2006.
 
BU HAS contended for the MVC title each of the JL years.....until halfway through the MVC seasons that is...:lol:
 
T is right. we have contended for the title on Jan 1st each season, just like Evansville has. When you play at 235 every year, you're not a contender...you're a pretender. I'm hopeful that this is the 1st year we contend in the JL era, I really am. Like I said, 2nd or 3rd is likely, that's closer to contending than any time in past 8 years.
