Jim Les show on at 8:30 am Monday- WMBD

More of a "mental hit" for TB and the team. Being cautious, but hopefully TB will be cleared to play in the future.

Opportunity is there for others to step up. Everybody needs to do a little more and be more focused, especially rebounding.

Players don't have to "score more". The defense needs to step up and create some points on offfense.

Defensive positioning looked better on Friday, but need to take the next step and make more plays on defense.

Walt continues to get better....very active on defense....very quick to the rim and able to make good decisions on his way to the basket.

Vogt has scouting for NIU and Platt has scouting for Loyola.

Worked on playing big in practice yesterday. Able to play big or small depending on matchups and opponent.

Wait, wait. What? Cleared to play in the future as in like a couple of weeks? Or cleared to play in the future as in "ever?"

TB will not even be re-examined for 3 months. So he will not play again this season.
I am sure JL was referring to TB returning next year, hopefully.

TB has already had a red shirt year so he would only have one year remaining if he could come back right? Any chance for a hardship from the NCAA?

This will make an extremely good case for a medical R/S. Generally (always?) those are not officially awarded until after the season.

SS did not apply for his 6th year until he was in his 5th year.
Although I am not sure if he could apply before then. (Although a few factors were in play: initially there was no scholarship available, and he had his own health concerns, and there may of been a new NCAA rule change that helped ..)

That's what I thought. The way sg wrote that up I was wondering if JL had some new information he released this morning...

You are right- the NCAA will not even consider an extra year for an athlete until he uses up his eligibility. Only then can the athlete apply for a waiver of the usual rules. In many cases like Taylor's where a missed year was caused by a 2nd medical issue from his first redshirt season (2007-08 at Bevill State College in Alabama) the NCAA has granted such a waiver.
