Ugly win, but a win.

I was really impressed with AT and MK. SM was SM. Dodie had effort, but didn't finished. Happy with DSE, JP. Indifferent with WE. Didn't like WL's shot selection. Absolutely sick with AW. I can't believe he called out anyone. He is the definition of a player not buying in to a system. I watched him let 5 rebounds go to LMU because he didn't put out the effort to get them. He should be our best player, given his talent, size, and athleticism. Instead we get this???? Ugh.

Another game I missed due to travel... I can't believe I'll be unable to see the first 5 games of the season... Anyway, no points for pretty... 3-0 ain't a bad way to start.

An ugly 3-0 but 3-0.

AT looked really good. If he plays like that he's going to be on the floor. A terrible game by WE and where did AW go in the second half ?

One thing I like.....last year's team would have lost both these games. I think we can win this weekend's tourny games. USC and TCU aren't exactly great teams. We have to continue to play good D though.

I think that is 2-0.

I wouldn't say terrible by WE. He had several good plays and at least gave a lot of effort. He might have made the play that won the game (if you can point to a single play in a game).

I am so happy for him. I've been pulling for him and waiting to use these caps........

ANTHONY THOMPSON ! ! ! ! ! ! !

Player of the Game. Things are really looking up for the Braves now !

:D

I cannot believe that NO ONE has said anything about BU playing BIG for a good part of the 2nd half!! With AT & WE on the floor together.

AT missed a point blank layup to seal the game. I would not get too excited on that front.

On the bad side, BU got murdered on the boards, couldn't throw it in the ocean tonight, and missed 6 uncontested layups. Add in AW taking a 5-count while BU tried to ice the game.

BUT

Bradley won....and all I ever preach is win win win. Just win baby. No excuses, no buts, not ifs......

Bradley took on a bigger and higher scoring offense and shut them down.

BU won on defense. They made adjustments....WOW.

The zone was getting killed, and BU was down. Then BU called a TO. Switched to man D and promptly shut the Lions down.

Milos took 3 charges, only 1 of which was the right call, but we will take it.

3-0 is a great place to be. Protect the home court. Find ways to win.

Very pleased with the effort and the use of bodies.

GO BU.

Well, my assessment of this game is that we won. That's all that counts, for now. That said, there are of course two things that are definitely still cause for concern.

First, MAKE SOME LAYUPS AND FT'S! It's not that difficult! I feel if we make just two or three more of each, we win each game by at least high single digits and the games don't come down to the last possession. But unlike last year, we are at least winning the close games and not losing them at the end, again for now. If we keep missing shots we will blow a few games again. But by playing tough defense and keeping a high scoring LMU team down to just 57 points, this says volumes about this team. So we do have reasons to be optimistic, but we just need a few more shots to fall, which I think they will. They need some more shooting drills in practice, but they need to keep the defense going too.

Second, of course was the dissappearance of AW. I don't know where his head was at tonight, but he needs to snap out of it ASAP! I think he will play a big part of where this team is headed this year, but it's got to start soon.

Thankfully we have closed out each game and have protected our home court via stingy defense. That's a big step up from last year, but we need to play better to beat the quality teams. But for now, great to see others step up and a great team effort to start out the season!

Now time to beat the Trojans this weekend! :D

Very happy with getting something from everyone who played tonight.....Kudos to Mk and the coming out party of STICKS......7 rbs in 15 minutes, a couple blks and some pts to boot.....Welcome to the Hilltop AT!

Now...need to correct the lack of RBS period and FT shooting @ the end of the games?

PS...Loved the playing BIG in the 2nd half!

The one thing I noticed about AW (really started watching him after realizing he hadn't scored in quite a while) was that 00 was in his jock strap no matter where he went on the floor and it seemed all of the other players were aware of him also. 00 was a lot faster then AW and after he made a couple of shots they switched to one guy guarding him the rest of the night.

The other thing I liked about the last 8 minutes was using 2 bigs at the same time and that off set the Lions height advantage giving us some big rebounds. (it also helped that the refs let them play)

Agreed w/ everyone that we are still missing way to many lay ups but at least the guys are trying and it didn't seem that anyone special player thought he had to be the star.

Last is welcome to the court "Sticks"-keep playing like that and silence your critics. "Great game"

I feel like since the Quincy debacle watching this team is like watching a ship that's taking on water in the middle of bad storm. You keep expecting the ship to sink, yet somehow it absorbs wave after wave (TB out, SM's ankle, JE's injury, WE screwing up) and keeps staying afloat. And it stays afloat long enough that the storm is almost over and the sun is breaking thru the clouds.

Staying afloat = winning ugly...............but for now I'll take it. And last year we would have found a way to lose these last two.

Attaboy AT!!!!

I have to admit I was about to write off AT and MK for the season. Great job guys! Hopefully they can both build on tonight. We are going to need consistent quality minutes from at least one of them if we are going to go anywhere this year.

Glad to see 'em winning, but I'm really scared for the game against Duke. If we play this kind of D and have the 6 minute run we had last night at least through the second half, we MAY actually have a shot at beating them. That's a TALLLLL order, of course, and you have to remember that we have to pull it all together. If we could see Warren play like last night, Sam hitting his threes, two bigs on the floor more, and an improving sticks, we'd be pretty well off. Still a LOT of work to do, but we're doing pretty good for what I expected! :) HAPPY to see our Braves off to a 3-0 start! :D Oh, btw, does anyone know if there is an official Duke watch party, or is everyone just gonna pack the local BDubs'?
