59 Braves - 57 LoyolaM: final

Why are we so quick to give Milos props for his performance tonight? He played 17 minutes and went 1-5 from the field. While scoring isn't everything, what else did he do? Yes he had 4 rebounds but defensively he really struggles.

I understand he wasn't "great" but he showed a little bit of sprk and MAYBE just MAYBE he'll gain some confidence going forward.

Agreed he wasn't a star but he did some little things that will help. He's still got a ways to go but again maybe this was the spark he needed....

Everyone realizes that if we play this bad this early, we have the chance to play better, right? If we can win on our worst nights we'll be fine.

Of course, if these games end up being the norm, that'll be a problem.

Second, of course was the dissappearance of AW. I don't know where his head was at tonight, but he needs to snap out of it ASAP! I think he will play a big part of where this team is headed this year, but it's got to start soon.
:D

Does he need an attitude adjustment? Reading these posts sounds to me like he's too good for his teammates and didn't show much hustle. I saw a different AW on Tuesday night - nothing bad to say about him that night. I didn't see any of last night's game, but this disappoints me about AW. I actually started following the NeuLion stat-tracker when the Braves were down 53-46 with 7:19 to play. The LMU point total didn't change much after that.

Thats what we are hoping for Asian.....playing better. You are correct....IF this is the norm it won't be enough when we finally start playing good teams and on the road.

Not playing well and 3-0 is so much better then not playing well and 0-3 :)......Keep stressing the D...hopefully the O will come.

First off 3-0, no matter who we played and how we played, feels pretty good. Especially with all of the gloom and doomers coming out of the wood work after the Quincy game. That being said getting outrebounded by double digits and shooting under 40% will eventually catch up to us. Love the hustle and effort on defense in the 2nd half of games but need to have that in both halves. Let's go to Springfield and get 2 W's!

I think we'll start to find a rhythm offensively this weekend.
I don't know about you all, but I wouldn't be terribly disappointed going home 1-1 as long as we continue to play hard & tough. TCU may be a tough match-up, especially if we still have a way to go to get better.
At this point, we can only afford to lose 3 non-conf. games this season for strong post-season consid. Let's tackle USC on Sat.! 4-0 would be a nice start to the season.

Are the teams we are playing doing the back to back games as well? man that is a lot of games in a short period...

You're kidding, a "Crouch like player" ?

I think that he is saying that he hopes that MK can become a Crouch-like player and that last night was a small start. Nothing wrong with that. imo I happen to agree with Braves4life on this! As he said, it is a small start, but MK needs to work with JC to learn to drive to the basket which in turn, will give him more opportunities for the three.

And if you think about it JC really didn't blossom until HIS Jr. year and then really turned it on as a Senior.

If MK can give us anything this year he will have done more than JC did HIS Soph year the year he struggled......

He drew 3 offensive fouls on the opposing team, I have been critical of both Milos and Sticks because of non production but last night they helped their team win by scoring, rebounding and defending, if they would play hard and hustle they can help, if you are expecting them to be stars then you are asking too much, we just need them to be good role players for now.
