Indiana State plays at Carver Arena on Wednesday, January 12, 7:05 pm. There is no TV broadcast, but the game is available on BU.tv and radio broadcast by WMBD 1470.

The Sycamores are lead in scoring by junior Dwayne Lathan at 14.8 ppg. He has missed the last 2 games because of a concussion. Senior Jake Kelly, the transfer from Iowa, is second on the team in scoring at 11.2 ppg and leads the team with 3.1 assists per game, but he has missed their last 5 games with an ankile injury. Junior Carl Richard averages 9.3 ppg and a team-leading 7.4 rebounds per game. Junior college transfer Myles Walker, 6-8 and 250 lb. junior, is the only player who has started all 16 games. He is a big-bodied rebounding specialist and averages 6.4 ppg and 5.2 rpg. Junior Jordan Printy, who was a starter last season and at the start of this season, has returned from an ankle sprain that caused him to miss 6 games, and has averaged 7.2 ppg off the bench in the last 5 games. Senior Aaron Carter (6-4 guard- averaging 6.4 ppg), tied a career-high with 19 points on Dec. 29 against Bradley. Isiah Martin (6-8 center- averaging 2.3 ppg and 2.5 rpg in 9.1 mpg) plays a smaller supporting role than he did last season. Sophomore Koang Doluony also played a bigger role last season, but has averaged just 10.5 mpg this season as a reserve, and 25 of his 39 shots have been threes.
One other new player this season is 6-4 redshirt freshman point guard Jake Odum who averages 28 mpg and has started 13 of their 16 games. He averages 7.6 ppg and 3.6 apg.

THE STORYLINE
Bradley will be trying to avoid its first-ever 0-6 start to the league season in its 59-year Missouri Valley Conference history Wednesday night when the Braves host Indiana State at Carver Arena ... As Bradley tries to avenge its 80-66 loss Dec. 29 at Indiana State to start its current 5-game slide, the Braves have not suffered a regular-season sweep by the Sycamores since 1997-98 ... Bradley's 12-game home winning streak against Indiana State is the fifth-longest the Braves ever have enjoyed against a single opponent.
WITH A WIN
Bradley will ... Earn its 1,600th all-time victory ... Win its 13th consecutive home game against Indiana State ... Halt its second 5-game losing streak of the season ... Earn its first Valley win of the season and its first victory of 2011.
Indiana State will ... Improve to 5-1 in The Valley with its fourth-straight win ... Sweep the Braves for the first time since 1997-98.
AGAINST THE SYCAMORES
Wednesday's game will be the 75th in the all-time series between Bradley and Indiana State ... The Braves boast a 47-27 series advantage in the series that dates back to an 86-63 Bradley victory Dec. 28, 1968 at Robertson Fieldhouse ... The Braves are 30-6 all-time at home against the Sycamores, including a 24-4 advantage at Carver Arena, where Bradley has won 12 straight in the series ... Ninth-year Bradley head coach Jim Les is 12-6 all-time against Indiana State, 8-0 at home against the Sycamores and 0-1 against first-year ISU head coach Greg Lansing.
WARREN TOPS THE MVC
Bradley senior guard Andrew Warren leads The Valley in scoring at 19.6 points per game ... Warren's 314 points through 16 games represent 30.9 percent of Bradley's overall offensive output (1,017 points), the largest individual scoring ratio in the MVC ... Warren's individual scoring ratio ranks as the largest by a Brave since Curtis Stuckey (25.1 ppg) scored 34.5 percent of Bradley's points during the 1990-91 season and currently ranks as the seventh-greatest ratio at Bradley since World War II.
WARREN AT THE LINE
Not only does Bradley senior guard Andrew Warren lead The Valley and rank 12th nationally in free throw percentage (.917), he also leads the league in free throw attempts (96) ... In fact, Warren begins the week as the only player in the country that has made more free throws (88) than any other player in his league has attempted ... Warren's streak of consecutive free throws made ended at 40 when he missed his third attempt of last Tuesday's game against Southern Illinois ... The 40 straight makes is the second-longest streak in Bradley history and eighth-longest in Valley annals ... Warren's 13-for-13 effort Sunday at UNI was his third game this season of double-digit makes at the line without a miss.
MORE THAN A SCORER
Not only is Andrew Warren leading The Valley in scoring, but the 6-foot-6 senior guard also leads the league in free throw percentage (.917), free throw attempts (96), 3-point field goals made (42) and minutes (36.6 mpg); and he is second with 1.4 steals per game ... In addition, Warren leads the Braves in rebounding at 6.2 rpg and has three double-doubles this season ... Has a chance to become the first player to lead The Valley in both scoring and steals since Drake's Curt Smith in 1992-93 ... In the Nov. 30 game at Western Carolina, Warren led the Braves in points (22), rebounds (8), assists (4) and steals (2) ... In the Dec. 4 game versus Utah, Warren led the Braves across the board -- points (27), rebounds (10), assists (2), blocked shots (2) and steals (4).
LOCALS START MVC HOT
Bradley's two local products have started the Valley season with some hot shooting ... Sophomore guard Dyricus Simms-Edwards (Peoria, Ill./Washington H.S.) is averaging 12.4 ppg on 51.1 percent (23-45) shooting from the field in the first five league games ... Redshirt freshman center Jordan Prosser (Goodfield, Ill./Eureka H.S.) is shooting 63.2 percent (12-19) from the field in the first five league games while averaging 5.8 points per game.
DUNSON STEPS UP
With the season's top two point guards, Sam Maniscalco and Dyricus Simms-Edwards, unavailable, senior Dodie Dunson had just one day to prepare to handle the point guard duties Dec. 8 at #1 Duke ... Dunson was up to the challenge, finishing with eight points, six rebounds, three assists, two steals and, perhaps most notably, zero turnovers in 38 minutes at Cameron Indoor Stadium ... In eight games as the starting point guard, Dunson has averaged 7.9 ppg, 4.5 apg, 4.1 rpg and 1.3 spg ... Although he had previously not played point guard at Bradley, Dunson was a point guard in high school and handled the position at times during his freshman season at Iowa State (2006-07) and throughout his sophomore year at Vincennes (2007-08).
STAY ON THE FLOOR
Bradley junior center Will Egolf has overcome a slow start this season to become a low-post scoring threat for the Braves, but foul trouble has limited his effectiveness ... In the first five Valley games, Egolf is averaging 11.4 ppg and 4.0 rpg in just 20.8 minutes per game ... Egolf has committed 21 fouls in five MVC games, an average of 4.2 fouls per game ... By playing the same number of minutes as Andrew Warren, Egolf's numbers project to 21.4 ppg and 7.5 ppg (Warren is averaging 21.6 ppg and 7.0 rpg in league action).
FEWER THREES
Following the early departure of 7-foot center Patrick O'Bryant to the NBA following the 2005-06 season, Bradley changed up its style of play and became one of the nation's top 3-point shooting teams ... While the 3-point shooting took a dip last season, Bradley has become far less reliant on the trifecta this season ... Senior guard Andrew Warren remains one of the league's top 3-point threats by shooting 42.9 percent from behind the arc and averages a league-high 2.6 treys per game ... The rest of the team, however, is shooting just 30.7 percent (46-150) from behind the arc and is averaging only 2.9 3-pointers per game ... Through five rounds of league play, Warren has made 14 of the team's 25 3-pointers.
THE TURNOVER STORY
Turnovers have been a telling statistic in Bradley's outcomes this season ... Bradley is 6-2 when it commits fewer turnovers than the opposition ... The Braves are 0-8 when they commit more turnovers than the opposition this year ... In Bradley's six wins, the Braves have averaged just 13.0 turnovers per game, while forcing an average of 19.0 turnovers by the opposition ... In the 10 losses, however, Bradley has averaged 14.9 turnovers, but forced only 11.1 miscues.
FOUL TROUBLE
Bradley is 6-5 this year when it does not commit more fouls than the opposition, but 0-5 when it commits more fouls ... In the six wins, Bradley has been called for only 16.3 fouls per game, leading to just 14.3 free throw attempts per game by the opposition ... In the 10 losses, Bradley has been whistled for an average of 20.3 fouls per game, sending the opposition to the free throw line for 24.1 charity attempts per game.
LOOKING AHEAD
For the second straight week, the Braves will play a Sunday night game when Bradley hosts league-leading Missouri State at Carver Arena in a 7 p.m. game that will be televised nationally on ESPNU ... Following Sunday's game, Bradley will play five of its next seven games on the road, beginning Jan. 19 at Creighton.

Man, this game scares me. I am not very hopeful as many of you are about getting our 1st win. We will need to play 2 solid halves, which we have yet to do in league play. The Drake game is as close as we've come.
It WOULD be a nice win, as it won't come easy.

WE's latest tweet:
"Cant think about anything other than this monkey on my back, he's gone after Wednesday night..."

That monkey has been holding on tight. Guess he's down with the team's motto - Hang on for the ride!
I wish the monkey would tell him not to foul so much. :D

NOW I can't blame Will for not dunking more - carrying around a monkey keeps him from his natural explosion to the rim. Why didn't he come out with this sooner? This explains a lot!

Maybe the monkey could get some minutes?

He is already getting minutes.
The number of combined minutes between the monkey on Will's back and Will is about the same number of minutes that AW gets every night.

That monkey certainly does like pine (trees) more than swinging on the rim.
I guess he dictates where Will spends most of his time for games this year.
