Bradley in NCAA! 13th seed vs Kansas at Auburn Hills, MI

why should Big 12 teams visit MVC teams?

shouldn't it be vice versa?

Gonzaga started playing anyone anywhere, then once they earned respect they started getting more teams on better sites (neutrals, home/home's)

Like it or not, it's a BCS conference world, and the MVC simply lives in it

Yes, and as far as I know the MVC went 7-9 against the Big Ten, SEC, ACC, Big XII, and Big East.

A lot of the a******s like packer, nance, and digger wont be happy until the smaller conferences break off into a div1-aa or something like football.

We just need to hope for some wins. I think all the valley teams have a reasonable shot at winning their first round games (although we got screwed the most of anyone, well minus Mo State).

KU turned down a visit from WSU on national television this season. Instead WSU went to Auburn Hills to play Michigan St and KU brought in Cal.

Good thing too cause playing KU would have hurt their RPI.

I live in kansas city and all over the radio and news they are talking about how this game is goona be pretty easy because you guys have not been in the tourny for awhile. well that is crap because history doesnt matter. I hate ku and their cocky fans. Please kill them, believe me you can do it they are weak! Remember who they lost to last year, bucknell who was worse then than now. Also there team was way better then. Please do me a favor and shut all these hicks up & send them home. GO BRAVES! GO Valley, show the world how good the valley is.

GO JAYS?!

For what its worth, 19% of 13 seeds have won their first round games.

And Kansas has a history of playing poorly in early round games, bowing out last year in their first round game to Bucknell!

While Kansas has had some close first round games I believe they had the longest streak of first round victories until the bucknell game last year. The last first round lost was in the early 70s I believe. Good luck to you but two in a row does not seem likely.

WOW, to say that last years KU team is better than this one is comparing apples to anything but apples.

Last year's team did not buy into Self's type of basketball. That was evident in early January. Simien was a phenominal scoring threat but couldn't play post defense. Langford was injured at the end of the regular season and never recovered enough to help in the tourney...JR Giddens was a washout who could shoot the three ball if wide open but could not penetrate or play defense.

THIS years team is based completely on defense. You struggle against teams that play great defense in the back court...our gaurds have cause numerous teams to turn the ball over...see the Texas/KU game for the Championship.

Bucknell beat us last year...NO EXCUSES from this fan, but the team THIS year would beat last year's team...the only player better on last years team would be Simien.

ONE first round loss in 30+ years and now we're vulnerable in the first round??

Come on!

You got screwed with your seed...period. But don't act like playing KU is not going to be difficult! Anyone outside of Peoria knows you have your hands full! We have a young ( 3 fresh and two sophs starting ) team that knows no fear.

I wish you good luck, but I hope we hammer you.

Bradley and us fans can only hope to avoid embarrassing ourselves against Kansas with all the NBA talent, and one of the top coaches in America.

But I think I will be glad when it's all over and all these KU, WSU, Creighton, and other smack-talking fans go back to their boards and duke it out. It used to be civil here.

I am with you Da Coach. I found this board in January an have enjoyed insightful posts and links from BU fans and opponent fans alike. The trash talkers bore me.

Some of the KU fans have shown links to information. That has been hepful but I want more than stats. I want a real basketball fan's opinion.

Of course KU will be favored as they should but as for the frontline players BU can be very athletic. One name I have yet to see talked about is Zach Andrews I know he did not see much of the court in St Louis but he will need to give quality minutes if BU has a chance. Also Daniel Ruffin has play well. It is too bad we could not compete in the MVC title game.

I want to know what changed in KU a the mid-season. Improved defense? New starters? Better shot selection? They went from loosing close games to the hottest team in the conference what was the big change? Are there any informed KU fans on this board that want to talk hoops?

We are a very young team, so part of this was just gaining experience, but the consensus seems to be that we really turned things around when Mario Chalmers was moved from PG to the 2-guard and Russell Robinson took over the point. Chalmers blossomed as an offensive player, and RusRob has done a more than adequate job at PG. Our defense has been tough all year -- took a while for the offense to start to gel. Here's an Andy Katz column from back in Feb. about our turnaround.

Thanks PekkaMarkkanenen I knew there were great KU fans here.

BU also had a mid-season change. It has after a disaterous home game against WSU. Coach Les put all starting spots up for grabs. The result has JJ Twaui moving from the bench and only minutes at mop up time to a starter. The defense improved for the whole team. They created their offense off the defense and went on a nice run over they last 12 games.

I havent seen any BU fan saying the game wont be difficult. BU will have their hands full. For crying out loud it's a 13-4 matchup. BU is thrilled to be in the tourney....I dont know if we got screwed, but many did think a 10-12 was more likely.....Bu fans hope we hammer you guys, thats pretty normal. But as most people in Peoria understand, message board posters dont play the games, the players do...so all the trash talking in the world wont have any impact on anything...so whatever makes you guys in Kansas get through a night in the plains is fine with me.....Best of luck to all the kids playing the game

I couldn't have said it better :D

Not to flame, but MANY BU fans have gone on about what a GREAT matchup this game is...going so far as to say your starting five are better than KU's...

well i know the starting 5 piece is not true. j.j. starts and i can think of a score of other guys id rather put in that 5.

but im not seeing where you find that everyone is calling this a great match up. i myself think that, if kansas wins friday they will cause some damage in the tourney. kansas is hot right now and can continue on that. but this being the bradley message board we will say that its a game we can and should win because its what we want to see.

and about the journal star article.. i would ignore it most of us ignore it anyway. half the sports writers take dumps on bradley while they praise the ground the "god's gift to illinois" (the illini) walk on.

Please post a link or reference to where any Bradley fan has said that. I do not believe it. Bradley fans are very intelligent as a rule, and know what they are talking about. I read all the Bulletin boards, and I have never seen any Bradley person say something this silly.

Quoted from "Da Coach" in the FIRST message on this board...unless this is tongue in cheek, here's that LINK you wanted.

The starters for Kansas (click on name to see bio)-
Russell Robinson
Mario Chalmers
Sasha Kaun
Brandon Rush
Julian Wright

Reserves-
Jeff Hawkins
Darnell Jackson
C.J. Giles
Christian Moody

Looks like the advantage goes to Da Braves!

I did not mean to come here and flame...not usually my style just feel like too many have not seen the Hawks, nor do they have respect for them. NO WAY does a paper in KS, KC or MO come out and bash your University because it's challenging the "Braves" as a mascot, or belittle where you came from or disparage your school. I do not care if it was meant tongue in cheek, it was in bad taste.

I have ALWAYS cheered on the MVC whenever a team made the tourney...NOT this year.
