Is this the last fallout? The positive?

Will there be any new surprises? I'm one that prefers to receive all the bad news upfront right away, not drawn out over time.

I also have to believe we have a few other recruits in the wings! I'm also going on a limb and saying that perhaps Coach Ford will not fill all the scholarships this year. I'm after quality recruits that will represent our faithful with class first and foremost.

Nothing is guaranteed. But in the long term, this may be the most significant fallout. RA will play at a very high level.

Maybe, maybe not. He never played here, so we didn't actually lose anything. You cannot lose what you never really had.

In the end, it does not matter. What we have is an open scholarship, and a new direction to go in.

Coach Ford now has more work to do.

Nice spin but Coach Ford wouldn't have gone to visit Remy if he didn't want him. This is not positive in any way.

Of course he wanted him.

So you are saying BU shouldn't move on? I don't understand that. SHould Coach Ford go to his office and cry about it?

I, for one, hope he is already past this.

it's not negative either....it's what happens when you change coaches.
It happened the last time and will probably happen the next time.

Yep. Its also about not being afraid. I know Coach Ford knew it would be hard. But, he is still out working today to get this job done!

It didn't have to happen - even with the coaching change. The new scholly grid changes that shaunguth puts out today are bad news.

No it didn't have to happen. Neither did Sam leaving, or BU finishing in last place, or the oil spill in the gulf, etc.

It did happen. Now we see how Coach Ford and Co. respond to it.

Sink or swim time.

not sure I understand it didn't have to happen even with the change. We tried to keep him but he wanted to go elsewhere.....maybe if his stock hadn't risen he would have honored his committment...but it did so life goes on...

maybe I misunderstood you....are you saying GF didn't try hard enouigh?

I thought he was intimating that GF wasn't good enough, but I could be wrong.

I think now we have 3 open scholarships for next season ( AD,SH,RA ) with hopefully J. Crawford coming in to fill one of them. With TB's status still up in the air and maybe another BU player leaving (?), maybe Coach Ford will go for JC players to help fill the gap. If Coach Ford does not fill all the scholarship's for this coming year, that is fine by me. No need to just fill open scholly's with lesser talented players for numbers sake.

If J.Crawford comes and can play PG ( he looks like he can handle the ball from the video I saw ), I would like to see a shooting guard and a PF for the other 2 scholarships, JC or 4 yr. player doesn't matter to me. I am sure Coach Ford still has some recruit's that he likes and will come through with some soild players.

do not want to speak for him...but I think its the "we didn't lose anything" part...its a loss and a pretty big one...

I will for one be watching to see what we missed out on...it will be interesting to see where he ends up and how he does....

Lets fill it with a shooter or banger either will do fine :)

I'm disappointed that RA isn't coming, but personally I think its premature to say we're missing out on something huge until he's actually played and shows what he can do at the college level. There have been plenty of "big time" recruits who didn't pan out and there's no way to know if RA is or isn't one of them until he actually plays.

It wasn't long ago that we missed out on John Wilkins and everyone was talking about what a huge loss that was. But after a year of seeing him play he was in no way the game-changer people made him out to be. Good player, but not a dominant one. It just goes to show that you never really know until they get out there and play.

are you serious, Wilkens was a huge loss !!!!!! Pretty sure we could have used him, RA is also a loss, and a big one. However that said, it is what it is and we move on, no excuses, just move on and play what you have

The kid was never a brave, and if he decided he didn't want to be so be it. I would rather let him go now than have him come to BU and then decide he wanted to leave here for bigger and better things (ring a bell?) Bradley will be just fine, Geno already landed a nice player who had an offer from Xavier. I'm not into playing the who offered who game, but ESPN lists RA as also receiving interest from Wright State Raiders, Akron Zips, Marshall Thundering Herd, Morehead State Eagles, Seton Hall Pirates. Shayok Shayok could definitely fill a much needed position in spelling TB during games.

Here's to landing an even bigger fish for this small pond.

BU and JL won RA over Marshall, Wright State and Penn State, per the tweet. If RA heads to any of these schools cause he got to play the JL is gone card, yeah, I'd say GF didn't git er done...

Hope he is as good as he thinks he is, or, what his handlers/homies tell him he is, and can land that next big school schollie where the grass is greener than the MVC, BU, and GF.....

BU apparently thought getting a Coach of GF caliber was more important than hopefully having RA here/stay here at BU with JL.

Time, and only time, will tell if this decision was correct.

I'll have to say that JW was NOT a huge loss after seeing him play last season. I don't think I'd want him - he lacks toughness and seems to only be able to score shooting the 3, of which he didn't rock the house.
I'm glad we didn't get him, but that's just my personal feeling in the matter.
