Bradley soccer wins opener at Butler 4-1

Video added to the game recap at BradleyBraves.com. I am working from my laptop and don't have my encoder set up with all of the right settings, so it may not play exactly right. I know it is buffering quite a bit on my wireless connection. Our staff will upload a better version later, but wanted to get this up as soon as I could. The video was provided by the Butler Sports Information Staff, but does include three of Bradley's four goals, including Gaul's 42-yarder. Meza's blast was from 27 yards (not bad). Remember to add the endzone into the yardage calculations.

Sweet!

Worked for me this morning B4L, so your post musta made it all happen.

Btw - there's an F-bomb at the very end of the video after a Bradley goal. Sounds as if a Butler fan (or someone working with the video crew) in the stands wasn't too happy. Said something like "... you f'n...." and I'm guessing he says 'kidding me'. Guy sounded a little shocked and surprised Bradley was beating a ranked Butler team.

Wow - a 4-1 butt whuppin' over "21st-ranked Butler"..
....congrats to the Braves!
is there still time for what's-his-name to transfer back to Bradley if Akron is bad this year?

Ok, those gaul goals are ridiculous!!!!! Bradley fans must look at these...don't even consider saying these are lucky...the velocity and ball locations he put on them are amazing. Attention mls scouts, i think bradley's gaul may be on this spring's early board. Of course, it is early though...keep it up bu soccer!!!!!!!!

Okay I'll say it...they were lucky. The first two goals shown in that video are lucky. A goalie that is even half paying attention would've saved those. I'm not sure what happened on the first goal, it looked like it went between a defenders legs and just kind of snuck up on the keeper but he had a very delayed reaction to that shot and that's why it went in. The 40 yard shot was a good shot with regards to placement and velocity but there is no way he actually thought it was going to go in. I'm not even convinced it was a legitimate shot attempt. The goalie obviously wasn't expecting a shot from that far which again caused a lapse in concentration and a delayed reaction and the ball went in. Terrible goal keeping on both instances. No way should bradley have had 4 goals in their first 4 shot attempts....that screams it was a goalie issue.

Don't get me wrong it was awesome, but to say it was 100% skill is a bit naive. 40% on the shot 60% on the goalie having a bad game.

Congratulations BU Footballers!

Nice win and start to 2011-12 Season!

PS
How many dunks or 3pt field goals did BU get vs Butler? ;-);-)

Oh wait, was this a soccer post snuck into the Basketball Fan Talk Forum?

Much better news then any other regarding any other school's b-ball team IMO. As a matter of fact the soccer team has been playing at a level that we are hoping the basketball team achieves.
