First, I think Coach is doing a great job, period. OK, now we are probably all aware of the many President Bush(isms) that are out there, right? Well, here is a Coach Les(ism) that is very peculiar... He does this over and over again when he is interviewed. (These are not direct exact quotes but are similar to actual ones I have heard) He will be asked a question like: "Coach, the kids played really hard tonight, didn't they?" He will repsond something like this, "No, they really did play hard and I am proud of them." Or, Dave Snell will say something like, "SIU is a tough team to play at home" of which Coach Les will reply with something like, "No, they are really a tough team to beat at home."

WHY does he answer with "no" when he really means yes? It sometimes drives me crazier than I already am!

No, no.. you're right.

My friend and I have been talking about that since he was hired. Jim is very well spoken and a great representative of the university, combine that with winning and Ill let it go :D

When I saw the thread title of Coach Les(ism), I was really really hoping it would be the "no" thing. My dad and I have always laughed at that. It's shorthand for "no doubt about it," but he has long since shortened it to just "no."
