Snell calls out Bradley students for not showing up!

Not counting the corporate season tickets, I would say most season ticket holders go to most if not all the games on the package. Why get season tickets if you're not going? Don't put the blame on the loyal season ticket holders.

I don't think anyone is blaming the loyal season ticket holders, but there were A LOT of empty seats in the lower bowl. I find that to be more alarming than the almost empty student section.

If it keeps up I would agree with you. They should be filled up pretty good from now on. More than a LOT of empty seats in the student section, almost all.

I've got no problem with that.

Here's my problem with TB saying anything....maybe they were there a time or two the last few years when TB was suspended....IMO he shouldn't call them out...he should encourage them to come out and tell them how the players would appreciate it.........in any event TB just needs to go play and not worry about the crowds

there were alot of empty seats...I know I had 2 that i didn't get anyone in...Sunday game had a lot to do with it.....

I actually have a problem with it. We all know where BU finished last year, and today were playing a team most students do not care about. When BU opened against DePaul after the Sweet 16, Carver was rocking.

The team exists for the fans, we do not exist for them. I wonder if they feel differently.

I am as embarrassed at student attendance as anyone, but TB bashing the students as a way to get them to come to games might not be the best plan.

For the record, I support athletes having twitter accounts and learning how to use social media responsibly.

Yeah, I was one of those at that game. That was a great atmosphere, especially in the early part of the second half.

That said though, this team has such low expectations that more fans should actually show up. Now what do I mean by that? Fans should not be too upset if we lose to some bad teams because we know we are rebuilding and there will be some bumps along the way, whereas last year expectations were much higher. Therefore, this is the time more fans should show up to support our team as these are young players (and some veterans trying to learn the new system) who are learning and can actually get better as the year goes on. So why bail out on the team now?

Plus those who wanted Les out of here should have no excuse in not going to games now that we are in the process of a new coach putting in a new system in place. So why not go out and support the team?

More than anything else Greek organizations want recognition and prestige among their fellow Greeks. They all want to be thought of as the best. They'd compete like crazy if BU promised them a radio or TV promotional spot or mention. They'd also compete for a spot on a billboard on or near campus, or a big congratulations banner hung on Bradley Hall.

I was a Greek..... They're all about ego and "face time". ;)

I like your billboard idea. How about right at Main & Sheridan?

I think we should show video of how the Wichita fans support their team on the Carver score board before the games. Our crowd was embarrassing on Sunday. Their "older" fan base are as vocal as the students. I miss the good old days when people actually stood and cheered beside at the start of each half. (People stand but don't cheer)

I've said this before but every time I stand and try to cheer I get yelled at to sit down and shut up or get called drunk (I don't drink) So its making me sit down and I save all my cheering for Arch Madness.

When I get called Drunk........its because I am drunk.

Sorry, but people buy seats to sit in and get up and down when they want. I guarantee you if you would be standing for no reason in front if me I would ask you to sit down and have no qualms about it. I stand and cheer with the best of them off and on during the games. Maybe there should be designated sections for standing only.

My beef with this response is that you have no more right to decide when someone else stands or sits than Duane does. This attitude means that if anybody wants to sit at anytime that the entire section in front of him must sit. Unfortunately this kind of atmosphere is what turns away a lot of the crowd my age (twenty-somethings, post-college). I understand both sides of this, but surely there is someway both can co-exist.

Maybe move those who want to sit to the upper bowl? ;)

This would be the reason I spent my first two post-BU seasons sitting in the student section...

If you want to stand the whole game I'm sure the ticket office can find you a nice seat? You can always drift on down to the student section, always room there. When it's time to stand I'll be standing right with you.
