To even think that he will contend with McD or Weems for POY this season is silly.
 
Too bad Drake couldn't pull that game out against Mississippi. However, Drake is not expected to do too much this year anyway, so although the loss hurts the Valley as a whole, this probably won't be too damaging.

Wichita St. on the other hand needs to win games like theirs. Better that they lost to Alabama this year than in the NIT championship game. But don't expect the Shockers to get at-large consideration when they lose to teams like this that they need to beat if they intend on getting an at-large invite to the tournament. And frankly, outside of UNLV, they don't have many quality teams on their non-conference schedule outside of UAB at home and Tulsa on the road, both "fringe" NCAA Tournament caliber teams that may or may not make the tournament. Too bad they blew their best chance.
