One MVC game Thursday 12/8

Ben Simons is turning into their only consistent option besides RR
...again - attendance of 2898 noted as very, very poor...and reflects fans' discouragement with the Mark Phelps era..

I'm guessing that actual attendance was closer to 2000. Not sure why they would start a weekday game at 8 p.m.

Bulldogs absolutely need a 3rd scoring option besides Rice and Simons. Yesterday was actually the first time all year that those 2 weren't the top 2 scorers for Drake (other than the game that Rice was suspended).

Rice has really improved his overall game....even when he has an off night scoring wise, he's still helping the Bulldogs.

DU Bulldog...how has Karl Madison looked early on? I see he is playing a lot of minutes. I liked him when he was at Lanphier. Thanks.

FW Jordan Clarke has been a help for the Bulldogs and seems to avg. about 8 ppg. Has good size too (6' 8"), and his rebounding #'s are solid. If Drake has services of Seth VD, they could be a legit Top 5 Valley team the way they're playing so far.
They are the biggest pleasant surprise among Valley teams (throw out the Boise St. game) - I would have thought they'd be 4-5 now, and they actually hung in there with Ole Miss and UVA.

Madison looks good, very solid. He's getting better every game. I wish he had a little bit more of an offensive game, but he's getting better as a shooter. He's not flashy, but he does a good job running the offense, and does a good job defensively. I think he'll be very good by the time he's a junior or senior.

I hope that Boise State was an aberration.....the other 2 losses were close losses to an ACC and an SEC team (each of them currently a 1 loss team). Clarke is very solid defensively and rebounding. On offense, his range is about 1 foot. He gets to the line a lot, but is a horrible free throw shooter. But, he is an absolute warrior out there.

What's kind of funny, is the reason he transfered from Vermont was that he thought he was a wing player and didn't like that he had to play the '4' for them.....now, he's playing the '5'.
