Nice followup on Mitchell Anderson, Jr

son of all time BU great Mitchell "JJ" Anderson...he's finally getting a chance to play on a Division I stage and peforming well!

Mitchell junior struggled in high school in Chicago and was hampered by injuries, really late growth spurt, and other factors...and got very little recruiting interest out of high school...
he then spent a year at prep school and a couple years at juco....still never getting the chance to shoot the ball much in their systems and still hampered with recurring injuries.

Then he got a D-I offer and landed at Arkansas-Pine Bluff.....but again missed last year due to injury...

BUT this year he's become a really bright spot in an other wise bad season for the UAPB Golden Lions...

This season Mitch has played all 14 games, started 11, and is averaging 10.2 ppg, 6 rpg...with 15 blocked shots and 14 steals and becoming a fine defensive player...
he just a 20-point game against New Mexico State - LINK

Last night in a close loss to Alabama State Mitch had 7 rebounds, 5 steals, 3 asst, and 5 blocks!!!
Problem is his team is not good and sits currently at 1-14...however - because of a road-heavy schedule thus far - they've only played a grand total of ZERO home games!!!
They now get to finally play on their home court as they have 6 of their next 8 games (SWAC games) at home...

I ran across this picture of Mitchell Anderson, Jr. blocking the shot of Trey Burke of Michigan...

HE also dunked on a couple Cincy kids - thankfully they didn't maul him...

JJ's boy, Mitchell Anderson, Jr. is on a tear -- he went for 21 pts, 11 rebs, 2 steals, and a block today and carried his UAPB Golden Lions to another win - their 4th in a row...
averaging 18 pts & 8 rebs per game in those last four...
