Final Score: Texas Pan-American 61 Bradley 78

I thought the crowd was embarrassingly low. On the video feed it looked like no one was there. And they mentioned on the radio a couple of times that the crowd never got into the game.

The cash grab needs to stop.

Is that the play that Dave and Chad were aghast because the defender was inside the arc? Why have an arc if you don't make calls based on it?
there is confusion on this rule -- it applies largely to a secondary defender (a guy who wasn't originally guarding the ballhandler but who steps in and takes the charge)
If you charge into your primary defender (the guy guarding the ballhandler even if he backs him down into the arc)
then the arc is of little consequence...and thus
a primary defender - as was the case on Monday - can still draw a charge in there.

"this applies only to the secondary defender. The primary defender is defined as facing the player with the ball...The secondary defender is defined as picking up the offensive player."

Sad that one of the Braves all time greats wasn't honored at the court he performed so well on instead of in front of 3100. This admin has no idea of Bradley basketball history. If they do they don't respect it.

RANT - I absolutely hated the price point for my tickets. Why don’t they sell them for $10 and pack the place? Would slashing the prices in half even have made a difference?

All of the above!

So why did they other team get free throws for taking a charge, regardless of the semi-circle?

So why did they other team get free throws for taking a charge, regardless of the semi-circle?

They ruled the contact came after the shot- therefore it is not a charging foul, which requires the ball handler still be in possession and control of the ball.
It was ruled a block by Lemon (after the shot), thus they ruled the shot good, and the foul was an ordinary foul. Since it was Bradley's 7th foul of the half, they awarded free throws. Additional discussion followed, because Coach Ford asked the referees to review the video to see if the player they awarded the free throw to was the correct player fouled. But this is not a reviewable call, so after discussion the refs proceeded with allowing the same player to shoot the FTs.

yes - it is because the basket was good even tho there was a charge - thus if the basket is good then it is no longer a "Player control" or "team control" foul and is thus subject to the bonus for the team on the receiving end.

COME ON MAN!!!

Sorry, I don't get all the releases of what goes on on the Hilltop. If that's what happened, fine.

The students still did not show up! There's very little excuses for them on this one! If it is more convenient for the fans that show up at Carver I'd do away with this gimmick. I was all in for these games but with the students not doing their part, why should they be given anymore gifts. I'd also have to believe and I could be wrong, that very little marketing was done on campus. We are talking about stumbling distance to watch a game and honor a true BU great!

I'm more apt to agree with this statement. Good point shaunguth.

Who started the campaign that created the funds to build The Renaissance? This also can be called the house that The Sweet 16 built, if you ask me.

I felt like a big positive was Walt's play tonight, especially in the 2nd half.
Good to see him come out of his 1st game funk.
He also played ore agressive on defense.
Didn't Will miss another 3 in the 2nd half, or am I mistaken?
If do, that's actually the 2nd miss he's had, but the stats don't show him missing any.
This win didn't do much for me really -exposed a lot of our weaknesses we'll see throughout the year. Seems like we did come ready to play and showef hustle for 40 minutes.
Gotta play better on Sat. to get a W.

Yeah....so far I'm 0-2 on games and 1-0 on luncheons.....I could have maybe juggles some things to go to the games but didn't want to go through the hassle....now if we were playing someone good I probably would have made the effort. I've already rearranged some things for the Michigan game.....I'm hoping to be at the rest of the games though...

BTW, one more question about the Monday night game and the honoring of Anthony Parker into the Bradley Athletics Hall of Fame.

Does anyone know why Anthony was indicted into the BU Hall of Fame, a well deserved honor, but the administration did not retire his jersey or number? We have a redshirt player (Omari Grier) who was just assigned the #24 jersey.

I believe someone of his success and stature and character deserves to have his jersey number retired as well!

Good question, and I agree. I'm sure that the criteria are very subjective, but I too wonder how that goes about happening.

yeah...that doesn't make sense to me either. Plenty of time to change it though since he won't be playing this year.
