2 MVC games Wednesday 11/14

I sure hope two of the top teams in the Valley don't lose on their home courts tonight.

Both games at halftime.....

38 - Toledo
41 - UNI

37 - UAB
33 - (15)Creighton

A pair of 10-0 runs by Creighton have helped them catchup and take the lead 63-55 with seven minutes remaining.

McDermott only has 4 points. He had foul trouble in the first half. Half of Creighton's shots have been open three-pointers.

UNI leading 82-81 with 10 seconds left, turns the ball over.....

Toledo returns the favor with a turnover of their own with 9 seconds left.....

Tuttle is fouled and makes the first freethrow, UNI leading 83-81 with 9 seconds left......timeout Toledo

both teams are fortunate to come away with wins...
Saint Louis was not so fortunate - they lose at home to Santa Clara!!
Didn't some people have Saint Louis ranked pretty highly this year??
In fact we had this discussion just a couple months ago where Rick Majerus was boasting on how great a job of recruiting in-state kids he had done.(previously)
In-state kids are the "lifeblood" of your program he said....
Well here is his roster - kids from Illinois, kids from New Zealand, kids from Canada, kids from Australia, but...
not a single in-state kid in a state AND A CITY that's rich in basketball talent.... in fact - looking at SLU's roster for years going back he hasn't had an in-state kid there forever.....so what happened- philosophy changed?

ugly game of the nite UC-Riverside loses to Fresno State 39-30 but nobody could hit the rim as they shot about 20% in the 1st half that saw the score at 13-11 going to the break
UCR was just 4-20 while Fresno was just 4-19 in the 1st half...
It's referred to as
"a defensive slugfest"
