Geno= Coach of the year?

Could or should Geno be up for Valley coach of the year?

Picked near the bottom of Valley and coming off last season, might Geno be in the discussion?

he's in the hunt given that every team in the Valley has struggled at times and there's no runaway winner...
sure hope you're not jinxing him....
we have to stay out of Thursday -- right now we're sitting tied for a Thursday spot

No jinx, but just a thought. In a year when no one is super hot or super consistent he might just have a shot.

Marshall wins it in a landslide at this point.

Bradley would have to finish 4 or 5 to get any votes.

I am not sure it's a landslide - he was picked 4th but very close to 3rd & 2nd and he has a very deep and talented lineup with experience, three juco All Americans, and a BCS transfer..
BU was picked 9th and if we can finish 10-8 and challenge for 4th or 3rd..then I think Geno deserves COY - giving him his 3rd COY in a row and making it a trifecta of BU coaches to get their conference's award

Agreed

Let's see how the year pans out but right now I have him in 3rd place behind Marshall and Lansing.

I'd like to think our experienced group of seniors & juniors are peaking and that we can win all our remaining games...If so then we'd finish 10-8 and possibly finish 4-5-or-6th...
If we lose one MVC game we might still possibly stay out of Thursday - but if we lose two and end up 8-10 in MVC play, then since both Evansville & ISU have the SOS tiebreaker on us we're going to play Thursday.

I cannot imagine anyone in our league will be impressed enough by a Play-in finish to even give one vote to our coach for COY.

Not if we own the 3 way tie round robin tiebreaker with Evansville. That comes before the Jankovich SOS tiebreaker.

If BU, ISU, and UE all end up tied, it goes into a mini round robin pool. I believe Bradley would be above UE if ISU can beat Evansville this week.
