Final UNI 80 - BU 46

Bradley has lost 6 in a row and 8 of their last 9 games after a non-conference schedule filled with cupcakes, and now they start into the harder part of of their schedule.
But in this pregame article, Dave Reynolds thinks it's just "a funk"

Bradley set for early Valley test
http://www.pjstar.com/article/20131231/SPORTS/131239855/10963/SPORTS

Dave also claims this:
UNI boasts the toughest nonconference schedule strength in the Valley at No. 36 nationally. Bradley is second, at No. 127.

I can only guess where Dave got that information. :)
It is not even close to being true. Every site that lists SOS shows UNI, Wichita State, Drake, and Illinois State all with a better SOS than Bradley's at this point.

RPIForecast.com- http://www.rpiforecast.com/live-rpi.html
WarrenNolan.com- http://warrennolan.com/basketball/2014/sos

And RPIForecast.com projects that by the end of the season, Bradley's SOS will fall to 9th in the MVC and over #300 in D1.

Bradley opens as a 12 point underdog in Las Vegas.

Incidentally, in the games that Las Vegas has set a gambling line for this year, Bradley is 1-9 against the spread!

Anyone got a lead on a stream for tonight?

Yes, as I just posted in another thread- The game is also on ESPN3.
The link should appear here at game time-
http://espn.go.com/watchespn/index#type/upcoming/

The ESPN3 broadcast is subject to blackouts in some areas (probably in areas where the MVC-TV network broadcast is available).

If anyone is unable to see the game, there are also several "pirate" sites carrying the game. If you are interested in these links, send me a PM.

Dave Reynolds is reporting that Jordan Prosser is dressed and participating in warmups. Looks like he'll play tonight.

Starters tonight: Bell, Lemon, Barnes, Pickett, and Wells.

This team just has no clue at all, the whole team. Geno needs to go. A team shouldn't be this bad with 8 newcomers and most of the "experts" predicting Bradley to finish 4th or higher in the Valley. Never seen a Bradley team play this bad.

Bradley playing better after that horrible start to the game. We will have a chance tonight for as long as UNI stays in their man to man defense. Maybe they didn't see game tape on how well we do against a zone.

three factors make this into another blowout loss for Bradley (already down sixteen points in the 1st half)

-we are clearly not at all prepared for the defense they are throwing at us - as if we've never seen this team and haven't "scouted" them - we constantly get trapped then chuck horrible, telegraphed, biddyball-caliber passes that lead to wide open breakaway dunks

-we absolutely do not know how to play defense on a shooter - we leave their 3-pt shooters so wide open it's incredible. Omari was playing 15 feet off Deon Mitchell on one of his made jumpers - surely he has to know Mitchell is their top scorer

-last simple thing - they make their shots we do not make ours

they get the ball so easily on the block for easy layups against the zone - we have to improve that - as soon as the big guy steps into the lane we have to front him -
our low post guys aren't getting a thing - their guys are having a layup drill. Hope someone's taking notes this time.

This is as worse as it gets for the "fallout". Might win 2 maybe 3 more games rest of season but it doesn't matter, this is by far the worst Bradley team I have seen in my 13 years or so of following BU. Personally I'd like to see Geno tossed at end of season, if you can't get 8 new players to gel into your system to make a decent basketball team, then you aren't the answer. It's not like he can boot 5-10 players off the team for next season and try it again. Virtually everyone expected this team to be a contender top 3 or 4 in the Valley, instead it's one of the worst in Division 1 lol. I don't get that.
