Dr. David Glassman - Bradley's Provost and Vice President for Academic Affairs- may be leaving Bradley University.......
He is announced as the first candidate for the top spot as Chancellor at University of Michigan-Flint

a decision is said to be set for before the end of this current semester..

Here's his CV that he submitted to University of Michigan-Flint

In addition to the three schools named above that BU Provost and Vice President for Academic Affairs Dr. David Glassman put his hat in the ring for...

now he's also a finalist for the top spot, President of at Eastern Illinois University

He appears to have a good shot at the spot as he is the only one with midwestern connections, as the other three candidates are from out east.

yeah - but in each case he's trying for a top spot - and you can't blame him- lots of the people look to move up to a top spot somewhere...
He's been at Bradley since May of 2010, and likely he isn't being given a lot of autonomy -
and in the five years he's been there he's seen a lot of stuff going south - and not just in Athletics - but now the campus-wide financial problems...
I suspect he has nothing to do with the problems and wants out before he's feeling the bus wheels.
He has an interesting background.

Glassman is now one of four finalists - he is set for another interview at EIU Jan. 21-22,
When all the interviews are done, the EIU Board will go into discussions and have a selection to announce sometime thereafter (after Jan. 29)
The exact timetable is not made clear but the new President "will be named before or during the March 13 meeting of the EIU Board of Trustees."

video of EIU students interviewing Dr. Glassman

interestingly - one of his answers to the students is that if hired, he will NOT come in and CLEAN HOUSE and clear out the good people who are already there.
Also - he addresses how important he believes Division I athletics are and but kinda stops short of claiming he is committed to DI athletics
and instead he spends a fair amount of time talking about accountability and the irresponsible spending in athletics and how it needs to be reigned in!! (scroll to 3:00)

Dr. Glassman obviously hopes to get a position as a college President and has put him name in several other places,
with Glassman one of the top candidates for EIU & the decision to be made soon there...

but I wonder if he has put his name into consideration for the College Presidency opening that's closest to where he currently is. Wouldn't you think he'd be a leading candidate if he wants the job?
Or could the opening at Bradley hurt his chances at EIU - as the EIU people ponder whether they should make a decision NOW only to have Glassman pursue the Bradley opening over the summer after Dr. Glasser steps down.

There is a You Tube of excerpts from his open forum at EIU. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5l7GOc8hVHQ

I get the impression he wants out of Private Universities.
