Final: Drake 71 Bradley 66

Geno needs to evaluate recruiting for sure. I don't think it is his fault this team is jeckle hyde poor decisions selfish play mental mistakes etc. I think Cross needs to look at the staff and possibly make some moves. I used to hear people talk about how good of a recruiter Jerrance Howard was so is our Jerrance a good recruiter? He has been here since day one with Geno.

Just wondering...Who's fault is it then?

IMO I think the players are at least 75% of the problem they did not play with any consistent effort and they were not tough mentally. They did not buy in to the team concept at all. Now with that being said their recruitment IMO was a failure wrong guys I guess. Geno does not shoot the ball or pass the ball or enter the lane early or dribble into double teams or turn around jumpers a 15 feet out heavily contested. As I said he needs to re evaluate recruiting process or the part of our staff in charge of that. That is what I meant!

No way you clean house this year??¦..but next year needs to be a step up from year 2 for sure??¦..if not it leaves BU with a problem depending on the season.

It's pretty tough to recruit if you are not getting an extension and players don't know if you are going to be here??¦heck that could be an issue now

... I guess the job of the AD is to evaluate why this happened, and make a decision ..
the AD came in here over 4 years ago promising every program would improve and compete for championships - especially promising basketball would improve.
The changes made on his watch have been embarrassing - the losses, the blowouts, tremendous decline in attendance, now the critical letters in the PJS, even the lawsuits ...
As I have asked many times in the past few years - can anyone cite anything about Bradley athletics that is better now than in 2009 when the AD was hired.
This has been the worst 3-4 year span in all of Bradley basketball history and I have been coming for 47 years.

btw - KW has been strangely silent lately - after posting elsewhere that he started the drumbeat to get JL fired in his 2nd year -
yet strangely asks BU fans to be patient for "several more years" as we continue the rebuilding.

Is anyone interested now in the reason >ten candidates wanted the job back in 2011 yet ended up turning it down after hearing the specifics despite the big $$ offer?

Unfortunately, he isn't the one who made any of the decisions that landed us where we are or which are responsible for Bradley being a laughingstock among other schools and ADs.
Changing ADs, would not change a thing. It would be like re-arranging the deck chairs on the Titanic.

I think it is a different issue but ends up in the same result. Other schools know the problems Bradley is having, the shambles of a program it has become and getting worse. They will use it when recruiting against Bradley and recruits see the problems. If i was a recruit i would stay away also. Just like the coaches did during the recruiting process. Maybe that is why Josh Cunningham decided to wait. He may have said I dont want any part of that. I want a program that is going forward.

Can anyone remember the last time an MVC school fired their coach and then turned it around and was competitive within even FIVE YEARS??

Barry is only two years into their rebuild but 6th place isn't exactly being back on top.
JL was back in 4 years, Mo in just 3.... Versace did it in just TWO years - but I am only counting "recent"....

ALL the recent firings & re-hirings like Marty, Lusk (didn't really follow a firing), Jank (same) , Lansing, etc....took several years --
or haven't even happened yet....
the only programs that have consistently been on top or near the top of the MVC (Creighton, Wichita, UNI..) have stuck with their guys even thru down years - and only hired when they had to when their guy was lured elsewhere.
This whole idea of firing and rebuilding every 4, 5, 6 years - is not working all that well - or has anyone noticed??

T. your argument is valid in some cases. I think you do need to give a coach at least 4 years. In Bradleys case, though, other factors are involved. I am not sure I like Genos offense. Instead of moving the ball around it is one guy dribble around and then shoot while the others wait to see if there is a rebound. Lemon will be gone but next year will he be replaced with a new name. Plus Bradley has an upper Administration that is counterproductive. I can live with a program as long as I see progress forward. Right now I see us going backwards, getting worse. I think if next season is not at least a winning record, Geno should be fired. But having said that then that leaves the upper Administration still making insane, stupid decisions with complete disregard to the loyal fans

This is Peoria - seriously - there isn't much else around and I don't golf, play poker, or spend time at nite-clubs - so the only thing I look forward to is 6 months of some good basketball with my favorite team...
I am not alone - there are thousands like me - we're patient, we can wait while Bradley rebuilds - but sooner or later patience and loyalty gets trumped by losses and skyrocketing ticket prices & maintainence.

The issue now is far broader than the coaching situation...we're years from getting those sellouts back......

Agreed. I remember Bradley would get a die hard 7000 to 8000 fans no matter how good the team was as long as they could see a light at the end of the tunnell. Now that light seems to have burned out or i should say been blown out

I think all the loyal fans on here and Bradley Boosters club should start a massive letter writing campaign to the Board of Trustees. I dont see any other way for this to get changed

glad he got back OK and the officer didn't ticket him - I have "heard of" cops who'll hand out "too fast for conditions" citations whenever this happens...
Since the car was a company vehicle - I wonder if it's their problem getting it out of the ditch and back home...
