Fun with the starting lineup

I don't see Josh guaranteed a starting spot his freshman season with Shaw, Barnes, Morgan, and Taylor. He may come off the bench initially.

It is so hard to choose. My initial lineup is Sutherland, Amerson, Barnes, Shaw, and Morgan.

My end of year lineup is Sutherland, Jones, Cunningham, Barnes, and Morgan.

So hard to choose and so hard to choose wrongly.

I don't think we will have a single player as talented as Walt Lemon last year and our second best player might not put up numbers comparable to Tyshon Pickett. But I think it is safe to say players number 3 through 8 are much better than last year and we could have a much more balanced and successful attack next year.

I can't wait for next year. This is a group I could see pressing too. When Geno came over initially I thought we were going to be seeing a press and a more uptempo offense, and this might be the year with the personnel to finally see that.

I sure hope we have better shooters then WL (sorry I wasn't one that was enamored w/ him like some). His shot should only be used to show how not to shoot a basketball.
I'm not going to get to excited but if TS is truly the point guard we need then we are already better then last year. These other guys will all make great roll players as long as they remember that BB is a TEAM and not an I sport.

I think we will see better shooters. There is no denying that Walt was a very good all around player though. I think the players we have added will create a team that fits together more cohesively than the last couple years.

Could either Barnes or Cunningham play the 2 ? Or...Could we have a lineup with two threes and then run our shooters (Amerson & Jones) in and out based on the game situation and our opponents defense?

That might work in some offenses, but Geno's offense requires "2" players to be good ball handlers and passers. And they need to defend quick, good shooting guards that are in the MVC, so, I wouldn't expect to see Josh or Barnes at the 2.
