I guess I'll keep waiting for somebody in the Valley to beat the beatable Shockers. Wichita once again did their 2nd half thing and beat Loyola 67-53. The Ramblers scored the last 10 points of the 1st half to lead the Shockers 28-23, Wichita's biggest deficit at the half this season. The Wichita does what they always seem to do, come out and get after it on defense outscoring Loyola 24-9 in the 1st 10 minutes of the half. It's just amazing to watch how Wichita just locks teams up on defense. Fred Van Fleet really controlled the action in the 2nd half on the offensive end. He had 14 points, 10 assists and 6 rebounds while Tekele Cotton had 16 points and Ron Baker had 13. Wichita shot 54% from the field while holding Loyola to 37%. Wichita should have a layup at home against SIU on Wednesday and then travel to Evansville on Saturday. If the Aces are as careless with the ball as they were against us the Shockers will just keep on rolling.
