As if the Illini needed more bad news- now likely starter Leron Black out with knee injury

season ending injuries
booze & drug issues...
player abuse issues in two other sports
Darius Paul dismissed...
Tracy Abrams gone for the season...Coleman-Lands out with stress fracture, Tate out with concussion...
...all this tied to all those early practices and the trip to France (was it really worth it?)

now the only reliable post presence Leron Black tears a cartilage in his knee and will have surgery....
they say out 4-6 weeks but that sounds optimistic....
(recall it took Donte Thomas nearly a year to get back from his)

they tried bringing back Leron Black but now they see Black is struggling and not really able to contribute....
the more he tries to play the worse his knee feels according to one story...
so they are revising this and saying he's out indefinitely and some are talking redshirt
Abrams is already out for the season, Tate missed much of November and has averaged only 2 ppg since coming back from surgery, Nunn missed most of November, Thorne & now Black also likely gonna be out for the year...
They could end up redshirting their entire starting lineup!

The Illini finally get some good news- Guard Tracy Abrams missed the entire 2014-15 season, which would have been his senior year, with a knee injury, then missed the entire 2015-16 season with a torn achilles tendon.
Today, the NCAA granted a medical hardship waiver allowing him a 6th year of eligibility and he will return for a final season in 2016-17.
