2018 & Beyond recruiting targets

More new names keep surfacing during this open recruiting period.
Here is another name that Bradley is recruiting-
Class of 2018- Jake Walter- a 7'1", 260 pound center from Covington Catholic HS in Park Hills, Kentucky, just across the Ohio River from Cincinnati.
He also plays for the Indiana Elite AAU team, where Koch Bar and several other past Bradley recruits have played.......

Jake Walter has suddenly chose NOT to enroll at Xavier where he verbaled and signed
...,, speculation that maybe his scholarship was yanked and the he will land elsewhere

Markese Jacobs has now decommited from Kansas and reopened his recruitment
...proof positive that either the check didn't clear, the payoff never arrived by Fedex, or the BMW was a lemon...

Seems we kinda knew that was going to happen over a month ago

wouldn't surprise if he had to sit out 2018-19 like other ISU Redbirds - McIntosh, Hawkins, Copeland, John Jones, etc..

Hard to believe but I guess a lot of the ISU fans were taken off guard and surprised by this...but most of us saw it coming.
The recent reports seem to say the Muller knew all along the kid wasn't going to play this year but he went ahead and recruited the kid anyway.

If they have an injury or two or even get down to their 2nd or 3rd player off the bench, they will be using walk-ons or guys whose playing time was severely demoted last year due to lack of performance. Their starting five could be pretty talented - but when we play them we ought to press & run, and make them use their bench.

Another name...

2019 Marquise Kennedy
- 6'1" guard at Chicago Brother Rice HS. He played last year at Crete-Monee High School. He is off to a good start this season and is starting to get D1 interest.

2019 Marquise Kennedy, a 6'1" point guard from Brother Rice HS in Chicago who hold an offer from Bradley, has garnered a lot of interest from higher level programs.

Wichita State is pushing hard to land him, and he is visiting there this weekend-

Jordan Brangers is working out and planning on testing the NBA Draft but check who he is working out with...
..this suggests pretty strongly that if he decides to stay in college, he will probably commit to Penny Hardaway & Memphis!

former Bradley recruiting target Jordan Brangers (too bad we missed on him) - who's 2nd year in junior college (South Plains) was cut short by injury

decided NOT to pursue the recruiting options or head to 4-year school - and instead hired an agent and declared for the NBA Draft
He was NOT drafted but he opened a lot eyes scoring 40+ regularly in the Miami Summer Pro League against the likes of NBAer's Victor Oladipo, Serge Ibaka, Andre Drummond, Hassan Whiteside, Wayne Ellington, Briante Weber, and Russ Smith.

He then became a hot commodity and signed a nice contract with Eisbaren Bremerhaven a team in the top pro league in Germany.
He still has his sights set on making an NBA roster in the future.

Markese Jacobs has now decommited from Kansas and reopened his recruitment
...
former Hillcrest Prep & Chicago Uplift pg Markese Jacobs verbals to DePaul
his brother Demarius decommited from SIU then verballed to Saint Louis after a year at Hillcrest

....
Alonzo Verge (former BU recruit now at Moberly Area CC) - 2nd Team DI...

former BU Recruit Alonzo Verge. still at Moberly Area, scored 55 points last night on 17-24, plus 6 rebounds, 7 assists, 5 steals

Gaige Prim, at South Plains, a verbal to Missouri State, went for 31 pts/11 reb last night

Here's a kid from Racine WI, a place where several of our staff are quite familiar...

Nobal Days...Class of 2019 forward who just had a monster game with a quadruple-double
10 Pts, 16 Reb, 13 Asst, 10 Blks….
Nobal Days is not exactly under-the-radar. He already has offers from Wisconsin, Marquette, Illinois, Northwestern, Nebraska, Kansas State, DePaul, and other major schools.

so I guess we did have a chance after all....
Nobal Days just verballed to Tulane....

Wow, he fell far. I remember when he was a Freshman or Sophomore people were projecting him to be a high 4 star or 5.

egib- obviously some of his offers fell off....
but he says his final 3 were Wisconsin, Cornell and Tulane...
the article about him says he is a 4.0 GPA student and wants to play right away as a freshman and have a shot at playing in the NBA..
Tulane plays two big men about 30 minutes each (one is avg 17ppg/8rpg, the other 15ppg/4rpg) so he will have to battle for PT.

Tulane is coached by a guy with tons of NBA savvy and experience - Mike Dunleavy,Sr., who has 22 years of NBA coaching experience.
He's not much of a scorer, which is probably why the other offers dropped off, but he is a big presence in the middle.

Here's an intriguing kid ... (from Indian Hills juco in Iowa)
Ivan Aurrecoechea- from Canarias - where Luuk van Bree played..

Over the past 6 games he's averaged 14 ppg, and 16 rebounds per game..
and is this week's national Player of the Week.....[
I know our staff has been over in Iowa but I still do not know if we are recruiting Ivan Aurrecoechea
but he had another monster game with 25 pts/15 rebs

This kid was lightly recruited, very few offers, maybe some considered him undersized?
But all he is doing is putting up double-doubles every night

It might have been academics, since a lot of schools backed off him, and he ended up at New Mexico State, who is known for getting kids into school who couldn't meet requirements anywhere else.
