Roger & Friends online talk show

Some people might be aware of a long-time Peoria radio talk show called Breakfast with Royce & Roger (Royce Elliott & Roger Monroe). They were on WOAM and WAZU for many years, but eventually, those stations went off the air and the show ended. It was a 3-hour talk show from 6AM to 9 AM each weekday morning, and they frequently talked about Bradley basketball, among other topics related to Peoria and its history.

The program is back and is now called Breakfast with Roger & Friends. Roger Monroe, a Bradley grad and huge fan, is the main host. Royce Elliott has passed away, but Roger has a number of rotating co-hosts. They are back, but not on the radio. It is now an online internet broadcast, and since many of their listeners may not be aware they are back, I told them I'd post info and a link here, since some of our members have told me they used to listen to the show.

The program can be heard here each morning between 6 AM and 9 AM-

They talk a lot about Bradley basketball, and have some interesting guests. It is geared more for older Peorians, and they talk a lot about Peoria history.

Have always enjoyed the show when I can catch it - Coach Olson from Central, Buesch, Dewey, Rocky Vonachen and lots of other notable sports folks are frequent guests of Roger's

I know a lot has been written recently about the Peorians who have won WORLD CHAMPIONSHIPS - Ben Zobrist, Shaun Livingston, Michael Hoomanawanui...
but Roger's brother Zach Monroe may, along with all those Caterpillar basketball players who won the Olympics - have been the earliest such Peorians and Bradley Alums to be celebrated as a WORLD CHAMPIONs

Yes, Zach Monroe pitched for the New York Yankees in 1958 & 1959. He pitched in one game of the 1958 World Series, which his team, the NY Yankees, won in 7 games over the Milwaukee Braves.
So Zach was a member of the 1958 World Champion Yankees.
