The ISU game - attendance

Historically the home game Bradley has with ISU is always the biggest draw...

Every ISU game at Carver Arena from the very first on January 31, 1983 thru 1990 was a sellout.... (well over 10,000- but 10,400 was the max seating capacity back then)
Then a couple down years (but still 8,000-9,000+) thru 1994 and attendance was back up to 10,000
But somewhere in the late 1990's the seating capacity was increased - and the ISU game began drawing over 11,000 thru the end of the Molinari era...(2/27/1997 - the VERY first ISU game with over 11,000)

here are the attendance numbers for the past 15 yrs

2001 11,309
2002 10,392
2003 9,722
2004 9,744
2005 10,406
2006 11,164
2007 11,444
2008 11,421
2009 11,592

2010 11,282
2011 10,592
2012 10,584
2013 9,088
2014 8,403
2015 7,349

the games in red are the three highest ISU home game attendances in history...
The game in blue is the lowest figure in the Carver era..... if anyone has the attendance figures from the Fieldhouse era thru 1982 - I'd be interested to see what they are - but the Fieldhouse seating capacity varied from 7,800 to 8,300, although I am convinced that many games packed even more in and the Fire Marshall looked the other way ;)

GO Braves !!!

Just a reminder for the younger fans who have never seen a sellout....Here's the sellout from the ISU game 1/24/2007

Remember the FREE BACON giveaway promotion??

The first one I ever heard of was at Kansas State
http://bradleyfans.com/vb/showthread.php?p=285825&highlight=free+bacon#post285825

I was a HUGE success and resulted in an attendance that was 5 times their usual!

then Bradley did a free bacon promotion at one of the Ren-Col games (vs. CMU in 2014) to try to get more students, but so few showed up that the vendors walked thru the sparse crowd and gave bowls of free bacon away to everyone because they had so much left over - so I would not call that effort much of a success.

Now ISU is doing the free bacon giveaway...for their Sunday WBB game vs. Loyola

There were several changes that increased seating a little each time. But then the last couple changes reduced seating a little, so that I believe it would now be impossible to beat the attendance record.
