One time Bradley recruit Peyton Allen, who spent a year at Texas A&M, then left and transferred to Wichita State and sat out last season, was touted to be a key player for the Shockers who are looking to replace Fred Van Vleet and Ron Baker.
But that will not happen now as today, 9 days before the official start of basketball practice, he has withdrawn from Wichita State University "for personal reasons".

An official release from the University said that Allen’s departure is not related to off-the-court conduct, a violation of team rules or his play on the court.
This is obviously the worst time for a player to leave the team. He has already burned another semester by attending school for the past month, and the season is only a few weeks away. If he transfers to another D1 school, he would waste another year and would not be eligible until semester break in January 2018. Plus, since he already used a "redshirt" year sitting out after transfer, he is not eligible to use another one if he chooses to make another D1 transfer, so he would completely lose a year and a half of his allotted 4 years of eligibility. Since he has spent 2+ years in college already, the junior college route also seems implausible.
And for Gregg Marshall, this comes at a bad time, since his roster spot cannot be refilled until next year.
I wish him well, whatever his issues are, but it seems likely that if he wants to return to playing college basketball, it probably won't be at the Division I level.
