interesting revelation regarding Normal West's Francis Okoro, that he is a bit older than others in his own class - LINK

Normal West's Francis Okoro, a highly rated big man recruit who Illinois head coach Brad Underwood pursued heavily, and there were strong rumors that he has going to commit to Illinois, made his decision last night.
He committed to Oregon over Illinois or Purdue. He is a 2019 recruit, but may reportedly classify to 2018.

For what it's worth, he played for a Nike-sponsored summer team (Brad Beal Elite out of St. Louis), he only visited Mike-sponsored schools, and all his finalists were Nike-sponsored schools. And in the end, he committed to the school (Oregon) that gets more Nike money than anyone.
I wonder if the shoe money had any influence on any of his decisions?

The 2018 Illinois Mr. Basketball and the top player in the state of Illinois for the class of 2019, E.J. Liddell, is set to announce his commitment tonight.

Normal West's Francis Okoro, a highly rated big man recruit who Illinois head coach Brad Underwood pursued heavily...
.... committed to Oregon ...
Francis Okoro was rated 4-Star by everyone but ESPN had him TOP 40 and one of the Top 10 big men..
He was much older than some of his opponents and a much more mature big man & everyone thought he'd be an immediate impact in college..

He had a bunch of top offers and chose Oregon

Oregon because of injuries is in desperate need of a big man so the playing time is there - they just lost their best big man for the season and are down to just 8 scholarship players...
They even UN-redshirted a kid three games ago - and he's already getting 17 minutes per game and moved ahead of Okoro!
...Okoro is struggling... playing just 10 min per game, he's not getting many shots off and averaging a little over 2 pts/2 reb per game.
He would have made a good mid-major big man - but time will tell if he can play at this level.
