2019 & Beyond Recruiting Targets

I haven't seen anything made public but keep watching...and usually these things are kept kinda quiet...
..but based on what Coach Wardle said last Thursday night - they are actively recruiting and hosting kids altho
he said specifically they are not DESPERATE to fill that scholarship and won't take someone just to use it - it has to be "the right fit".

Terry Nolan, Jr. visiting Bradley today thru Wednesday- ...
make what you want of it, but a couple comments from Terry Nolan on his social media...
when he first arrived at Bradley on Monday.... "No plan B.. it's messing with my plan A"
and a couple days earlier..."best kept sercret gimme 2 years... imma blow up beyond belief"

I think he's ready to decide....if he gets an offer today, then we might hear something

Maybe, but I don't think anyone can infer anything from his tweets. I don't think either of those referenced tweets refer to Bradley.
The "best kept secret" tweet was posted 3 days before he even arrived at Bradley for his visit, and appears to me to be just playful boasting about himself, which he does frequently on his twitter page.
The "No plan B" tweet was posted Monday afternoon around 4 pm. Who knows if he had even arrived at Bradley yet, but even if he had, it seems way too early to be referring to Bradley or his visit, and is probably just another of his frequent self-confident boastful tweets.

...The "best kept secret" tweet was posted 3 days before he even arrived at Bradley ...
well I know that and so would anyone else since that's precisely what I said

..and a couple days earlier..."best kept sercret gimme 2 years... imma blow up beyond belief"...

but just what might have been the BIGGEST THING on Terry Nolan Jr.'s mind at that point that he made that Tweet?
He tweeted that at 6:24pm on last Friday - shortly after it was made public that he had scheduled a visit to BRADLEY - and you knew that because you posted about it a few minutes later - https://www.bradleyfans.com/forum/sp...062#post486062
Surely coming from Baltimore he would have been hustling to pack, make various arrangements, doublecheck on his flights etc...
..but he took time out to Tweet his desire to blow up and have a great career

As far as I can tell, Nolan's visit to Bradley is the only one he has scheduled anywhere (or at least the only one made known anywhere- while the visit to Bradley is mentioned several places including multiple times on Nolan's own Twitter feed).
So - if he is planning or dreaming of blowing up and having a great career - might his upcoming visit to Bradley have had some influence - I think it is reasonable.

apparently he's also is a Green Bay Packers fan - based on his retweets

Am I correct to assume Nolan has to sit a year?

Yes, unless he can get a waiver from the NCAA, and there doesn't appear to be any legitimate reason they would grant one, he will have to sit out a year at Bradley.

Here is a lot more information about Terry Nolan, Jr.

And the updated scholarship grid-
https://www.bradleyfans.com/forum/sp...holarship-grid

former Bradley recruit David Sloan is completing his official visits -
he has been to Georgetown, Cincy & now Kansas State...he had previously visited Louisville - so it appears he has ruled everyone else out...

Bradley has officially announced Terry Nolan, Jr., so I guess he has signed the necessary papers...
also Michael Moreno, who I think will be very good in college - has narrowed to Evansville, Wofford & Eastern Kentucky and will decide soon - https://twitter.com/michaelmoreno30/...26803946889218

Nolan has me hyped up. Any guesses who could be next?

Bradley has offers out to several unsigned 2019 high school kids, prep school kids, and transfers (see the recruiting threads stuck to the top of the board).
I hope the readers of BradleyFans.com appreciate that they have, by far, the best and most complete information available of names and descriptions of those recruits. But there are always additional names we may not know of which pop up suddenly. But, nearly all of the players Bradley has recruited have appeared here first, and many have only been noted here.
I have not heard any rumors who among them the coaches have as their #1.

Thanks LTF. LIke you and a lot of Bradley fans, I love to follow recruiting. Judging from the traffic that recruiting topics and posts get, the only thing more popular for fans to read about are the games and game stories themselves.

I do not know who the final open scholarship will go to. But, I think it is important to use it on a recruit who will be eligible next season, and will be ready to play and contribute, either a high school/prep school kid, juco, or a grad-transfer. The reason is because we now have 2 transfers from 4-year schools (Terry Nolan, Jr., and Danya Kingsby). And our coaching staff and fans are hopeful Kingsby will be granted a waiver to be eligible next season, but there is no guarantee it will happen. That could mean we'd have 2 quality guard transfers who will not be eligible for 2019-20. If Bradley signs another transfer from a 4-year school, we could have 3 non-eligible players. Then if there are any injuries, or if any other players are out for a length of time, or if any of the other incoming 2019 recruits don't qualify or don't arrive at Bradley for any reason, or need to redshirt, it could significantly hurt Bradley's depth.
Ideally, I'd like to see us sign a grad-transfer or a juco wing who would step right in and help replace DLO, Luqman Lundy, or Luuk van Bree's contributions. Otherwise we may have to rely on our incoming freshmen.

We MUST get an immediately eligible, experienced guard with that last scholarship..

we have ONLY two guards returning - Kennell & Darrell Brown - WHAT IF...one or both get injured - those things DO happen....
and if Danya Kingsby does not get the waiver then both he & Nolan won't help next year
we would then be extremely short on guards - especially experienced guards and would have to rely on contributions from Ville & Antonio Thomas

so I would love to get Nana Akenten or Tim Finke but neither will help next year - even high scoring JD Notae would help us down the road but he'd sit out next year
..we need a Luqman Lundy clone that Coach Wardle can find in the juco ranks that doesn't have to be a big scorer but a hard worker &
a solid ball handler and heady playmaker... Wardle found Lundy late in the recruiting game two years ago and a lot of people doubted "L" but he showed us all that he was the right man for the spot!

T, if you think we must sign someone eligible this year you are going to be disappointed.

no, it would depend - if it was someone worth using a whole year of scholarship before he's eligible, then I would not be disappointed...
but I would be disappointed if we have some injuries and then get caught like ISU did with a really short bench while a bunch of guys are sitting out ineligible...
