Tell me about Dana Altman

Hey guys/gals- Beside being a Bradley Fan, I am also a Razorback fan. I have been telling everyone I know that Altman has been through the battles in the MVC and that will have him ready for the SEC. I am excited about his hiring.

I live in Arkansas so I don't get to see many Valley games. Can you give me an idea of what style and type player to expect from him?

Thanks in advance

Expect well-coached, fundamental play. His teams weren't always the most athletic, but almost ALWAYS were the smartest team on the court. His teams also traditionally shot well, especially from 3. With some of his deeper teams, they would full-court press the entire game. The last few years they've backed off a bit, but still played a myriad of defenses.

Altman had perhaps his best class coming in at CU, including a 4-star, top 100 player (who has recently asked out of his LOI to CU, perhaps to follow him to Arkansas). I think he should be able to recruit in the SEC.

Exciting, well-played basketball is what you'll get from Dana Altman. Arkansas made a great hire. He will be missed in the MVC.

As I recall was Dana Altman's demands when Illinois wanted to hire him 4 years ago, he appears to have insisted that he be allowed to bring all his assistants with him to the Arkansas job.
This article reports that his 2 remaining assistant coaches Brian Fish and Darren Devries, are moving with Altman to Arkansas. The 3rd assistant was Kevin McKenna, who took the Indiana State job.

It also reports that Creighton AD will form a search committee to look for a new coach.
