So -- who will be the next 2019 (or 2020) player to commit to Bradley?
FIRST - Bradley just offered a top point guard out of Indiana - Nijel Pack - a kid we have been recruiting previously
https://twitter.com/NijelPack24/stat...55924215705600
https://www.bradleyfans.com/forum/sp...e10#post465392

On paper we are out of scholarships for 2019 but.....
-it is said that JaMir Price would do a year of post-grad at prep school
-and as we have seen every year - there are always "unexpected" departures - and I have a feeling there will be again this spring...

So, we might have 1 or 2 more 2019 scholarships to fill this spring
AND, of course, we will then have Hodgson, Bar, Kennell and Brown graduating in 2020- so at least 4 more scholarships to fill for fall of 2020

Here's what I think...
...with the loss of Bar we will definitely have to get a big man for this fall or next
...and we have to bolster our shooting & scoring ability...

Here's a few names that I think we could use - but there are likely more names that will come up as we near the spring signing period...
read more about these recruits - HERE

Big men - Mabor Majak (2020), Dawand Jones (2020), Seryee Lewis (2020), Darius Hannah (2020), Carter Gilmore (2020)
Wing players/shooting guards - Xzavier Jones (2019), Michael Moreno (2019), Anthony Leal (2020), Gabe & Mason Madsen (2020), Isaiah Rivera (2020)
Point guards - David Sloan (2019), Nijel Pack (2020), Rashad McDaniels (2020)

Bradley is already 1 over the scholarship limit with 4 players signed (Tahvanainen, Thomas, Gabriel, and Price), and another (Mast) who just committed.

When Price is supposed to go to prep school, it is still surprising that a letter of intent for this fall was signed. We could use someone like Sloan and/or a wing scorer. I imagine Sloan will go to a bigger named school.

perhaps not - Bradley may have wanted to sign him to a LOI and the kid in his own words - said
he wanted to sign as a fulfillment of a promise he made to his now passed mother

btw- another name to add to the list of who may be next...

Latrell Wrightsell - altho he is a 2020 recruit, Bradley hanging close to him - https://twitter.com/MikeSautterOWH/s...25617842901001
..and he's been putting up some pretty eye-popping numbers - https://twitter.com/NEPrepZone/statu...27078742134784
He's visited Bradley at least twice already - https://www.bradleyfans.com/forum/sp...targets/page12

as expected, two scholarships opened up so I suspect we will fill them soon but it appears more likely
we'll go after one or more transfers who could help us immediately.

WE ARE LESS THAN 3 WEEKS AWAY from the Letter of Intent Signing Period
....April 17 thru May 15, 2019

am hearing that one of the couple transfer names we have previously heard may no longer be considering Bradley. But, there are more options opening up that our coaches are looking at, including 2019 names we have previously posted, and new names on the transfer lists.

BU recruit Michael Moreno tweets that he's taking a visit to Wofford and has not committed to Evansville...
I hope our staff takes another good look at Moreno - he is a lot better right now than Scottie James was coming out of high school...
I think he'd be very good in the MVC

...now that we've landed Kingsby....
Indy Star article on Bryce Moore - mentions Bradley prominently

He would be eligible immediately...graduates this month
https://www.indystar.com/story/sport...medium=twitter
Bryce Moore is setting up visits - so far Xavier April 11-12 and Creighton April 13-14 - "then set up other offers"...
..so I would guess he's only entertaining an upward move to Power- 5 conferences
Moore was a high school teammate and friend of Xavier star Trevon Bluiett

Moore seems to be deciding between Creighton and Xavier...so probably a long shot for us at this point..

when you look at the MVC teams that still have open scholarships..
Bradley has one if Jamir Price heads to prep school. Drake, Evansville and several Valley teams have 1 or 2...
ISU still has 3 or 4!!!

But there's just NOT a whole lot of available talent remaining out there!
Check what Valpo did with several of their open scholarships - they signed a whole bunch of really obscure European guys
who, as Bradley people know, are gonna take a little while to adjust to and learn the game at the Division I level.
Gotta wonder where ISU is going to find that many kids who can contribute.....without going with some bad apples like they have done recently...

Keep in mind there are a ton of kids still on the transfer market, and I think a fair amount of JUCO kids.

I kinda took that into account....most of the transfers with sufficient talent to help right away are aiming higher and not looking at midmajors..
...then a bunch will have to sit out so they won't help this year either (ISU made that mistake last year taking numerous sit-out transfers then
getting caught with a dangerously short bench much of the season).

There's definitely a lot of juco kids - and maybe some will help at the DI level - but I have been tracking those kids and just don't see
many that are solid talents and great targets for us or other MVC teams -
One kid Bradley had been recruiting, Steve Wooten - just signed at UT-Martin- https://utmsports.com/news/2019/4/18...r-2019-20.aspx
..then a couple familiar names, AJ Youngman and Zion Morgan are also still available as are about 1/3 of the Juco Top 100 kids
https://www.jucorecruiting.com/2019-...p-100-rankings

..but if they are still available nearing the end of April, then you have to figure there's a reason...
Juco kids like ISU's Josh Jefferson and UNI's Tray Croft looked good on paper when they were signed late -
but they turned out to be essentially wasted scholarships - and ISU's Zach Copeland was ineligible and cost them that scholarship his first year (they did give it for 1/2 the year to walk-on Gassman but then they already had him on the roster and now he's gone)

I listed a few transfers that could help us - Nana Akenten, Rod Brown, Tim Finke, Jaylen Fisher, Sam & Joey Hauser and JD Notae...
and also this kid - Stanley Umude - https://www.argusleader.com/story/sp...ll/3509560002/
..but of course, he, like the rest is already getting interest from the big schools...

BUT... having said all that - surprises still occur - remember - we got Luqman Lundy kinda late in March of 2017
https://www.bradleyfans.com/forum/sp...7-luqman-lundy

and maybe the all time BEST really, really late recruit was landing Will Franklin in May of 2005 with Ja'Shon Henry in June of 2018 being a close 2nd! (also Luuk vanBree in May of 2015)

So -- who will be the next....
..Big men - ...Seryee Lewis (2020)....

Re: Chicago Kenwood's Seryee Lewis
-the head coach at Kenwood just stepped down and they have hired a new head coach
-Seryee Lewis now is transferring to Chicago Morgan Park **
-Lewis is the top ranked post player in Illinois in Class of 2020 **
-He is playing for Mac Irvin Fire & Bradley is still involved **
-here's all you need to know - Elijah Childs 2.0 - https://twitter.com/BallerTV/status/1122578019544125445
-Lewis is Class of 2020 & playing well for the Mac Irvin Fire, so not likely to announce any time soon but possibly by this fall

well, we do have one potential "roster spot" still open - the "PWO"... and we have an offer currently extended to Sean Houpt & waiting for his decision

Im wondering if AJ Youngman is a bust - have not seen anything about him going to a D1 program or any offers
