3 MVC games Saturday, Feb. 16

Indiana State is coming off an 87-82 road win at Valparaiso where they played very well. But today at home, the Sycamores look terrible. They are losing to SIU with under 4 minutes left in the 1st half 34-19. They are shooting 29% and have already thrown up several airballs, plus they're being outhustled, outrebounded, and playing poor defense. It is early enough it could still turn around, but if not, Greg Lansing isn't endearing himself to the home fans today.

BTW, Bradley would benefit a lot more if SIU loses, since they are currently tied for 5th place.

SIU scored the first 6 points and never looked back as they easily beat ISU Blue 79-57. 3 guys for SIU scored 20, Kavion Pippen had 21 on 10-12 shooting, Armon Fletcher had 21 and Sean Lloyd Jr. had 20. SIU shot 68% in the 1st half and was 28-51 for the game. They outrebounded ISU 40-30, had 18 assists, were 8-14 from 3 and shot 15-16 from the FT line. ISU was just 21-63 from the field, 33%. Lansing has to be on the hottest seat in the Valley.

...Lansing has to be on the hottest seat in the Valley.
Greg Lansing's current contract situation-

Up thru 2017, Lansing had an automatic 1-year extension added every year as a "rollover" clause to keep him perpetually under contract for 5-years into the future- but that clause was cancelled Mar. 2017. thus beginning in March 2017, he had four years remaining on his contract - LINK

At any point if terminated Indiana State would owe the remaining pay left on his contract - LINK

At the end of this season - he would still have two years left at around $300-350,000 - so the buyout would be feasible.

Drake never trailed at home and beats Valparaiso 84-79-

Drake is making a run for the MVC title, and remains the only MVC team with fewer than double-digit losses, something I am not sure has ever happened before.
Valparaiso, which surprised everyone by winning their first 4 MVC games, and 5 of their first 6 (only loss was at Loyola), have now lost 7 of their last 8 (only win was at ISU). Valpo, who was tied with Bradley for 5th place at the start of today's games, now falls to 6-8 and they are alone in 8th place.

So if we get this win and the bears win tomorrow we will be 2 back. What a yr. I dont think we can afford a slow start tonight. I hope the first few shots are inside close by Brown, Childs or Luuuuuuuuuuukkkkk. Frustrate MY and Dan early and go from there. Sounds bad but lets kick them while they are down. Steal this win and hope to be on the other side of the bracket in St Louis and go for the 3 fer on Sunday. Go BU. This is a real shot at arriving.

We have the solid head-to-head tiebreaker on ISU and Indiana State
We also now currently have a NET tiebreaker over ISU, Valpo, InSU, UNI & Evansville - but unless SIU has a total collapse, we might not catch them with NET.

Just keep winning all the way thru St. Louis so the NET won't matter!!
