They will probably elevate one of the longtime assistants who had worked with Skip Prosser, but this writer from the Winston-Salem Journal suggests a few new names, including Chris Lowery.--

I honestly believe that CLo is waiting for the Illinois job to open up and then he will take it if offered. I know he signed the 7yr deal with SIU-C but money talks and so does the power of recruiting at that level. Also, he can keep his enabled son in the state of Illinois.

Wow - that's a pretty strong statement IMO.

Kinda suprised to hear it mentioned as such... 'waiting for the UIUC job to open up'... as if it is only a matter of time. And then, to think Illini Nation would take the SIU-C head coach after a failed selection from the same school.

I have no inside info, just a feeling. Weber wasn't as successful as CLo. Not many people have been at the mid major level. He's building SIUC into a high major type program (see Gonzaga) and the Illini Nation sees that. By the way, if Weber were to leave Illinois on his own will, how many of you think that the UI fans would change their tune on what they think of him? Just curious.
