www.HoosierNation.com (also known as www.indiana.scout.com ) just posted a premium article with information about Matt Roth's visit to the Indiana campus and an interview.

http://scouthoops.scout.com/a.z?s=75&p=2&c=665071

The article says that Kelvin Sampson told Matt Roth he's being recruited for his shooting ability and not as part of a "package deal" involving Matt's AAU teammate and good friend Tyler Zeller, who Sampson also covets.
Here is a quote from Matt--
???‚¬?“They said they saw me stepping in and being a guy that could step in and hit shots and be a sold role player on the team.???‚¬??

He said he???‚¬?„?s narrowed things down to three schools ???‚¬??? Indiana, St. Louis, and Bradley. And he acknowledged that St. Louis and Bradley are both schools where he could step in right away and "be a leader for their program a little more than a role player???‚¬??. He talked further about when he would make his decision and what factors would help him decide.

Also, Mike Pegram, who runs www.Peegs.com (also known as www.Indiana.rivals.com ) just posted on the Indiana Rivals premium message board that he just finished a long interview with Matt Roth. They will post an article in the next day or so, but in brief, he says Matt said--
"he had a good visit and Indiana has moved up into a dead heat with SLU and Bradley. Still looking at an end of month early September type timing with his choice."

We'lll get more info to you members as soon as it's available.

Here is the article from www.Peegs.com ( www.Indiana.rivals.com ) about the Matt Roth visit to Indiana.

Here are a couple clips--
"I just came over for an unofficial and got to see the campus a little bit," said Roth. "I got a good feel for the coaching staff."
The Metamora, Illinois native gave us a few of the highlights.
The visit does appear to have improved the Hoosiers' chances in his upcoming decision.
"I think they have moved up," said Roth. "I got a great feel for the coaching staff and the school yesterday."
The loyalty to the Billikens and nearby Bradley runs pretty deep for Roth.
"I have them listed because up until July I did not have any other offers and I had kind of narrowed it down to those two," said Roth. "I was kind of holding out to see what July brought me and it did open things up but those two schools did recruit me for a long time. I have a good relationship with both coaching staffs. I did get a couple more offers but I have it down to three now basically."

He talks a little more about the things he likes about each school.
But what is with them saying he is from Metamora?

If the best thing he can say about Indiana after a visit is--
"I think they have moved up," said Roth. "I got a great feel for the coaching staff and the school yesterday."
Then I think Bradley may still be in good shape.

He lives on Co Line Rd which I believe has a metamora mailing address

I read a discussion that now he's being discussed on Rivals and scout boards, look for Matt Roth to crack the rankings (eg...Rivals Top 150)

Will we get one?

Will we get one?

I am very impressed with the fact that Bradley has been short list of college choices with so many top players.

However, second place in recruiting doesn't get us much so the real question is will we land one of these prospects and if so who. If we can get one maybe we'd gain some momentum with other recruits for many years to come.

So the big names so far are:
Matt Roth
Iman
Lewis Jackson
Jordan Prosser
(Did I miss any)

Anyone care to take a guess on which one(s) we get?

I say Lewis Jackson and a new one not on this list.

I believe Shumpert would give the program the recruiting momentum needed to sign even more top-level players.

Looks like we can take Shumpert off the list as he has cut his list to Georgia Tech, Marquette, and UNC.

We aren't on Prosser's short list either. He's pretty much Wisconsin-bound, barring some unforeseen turn of events.
