I probably have the same info you have, and I agree that the coaches are constrained in what they are allowed to say, but it's a choice by the Bradley administration and the lawyers. It differs dramatically from the way Bradley has handled previous similar legal and disciplinary incidents, and the way many universities handle such incidents.
When players got into trouble at Big Al's under Geno Ford, all the information about those events was known immediately, even before it made the newspaper or was reported by police, because the coaches and administration at that time handled it differently.
When there were player incidents under Jim Les, those were usually public knowledge immediately- recall the Taylor Brown incident with another student that was not even a police matter, or his unacceptable tweet about a teacher. They could have easily been handled privately, but the administration leaked info to their friends at the PJ Star because they preferred the info become public to embarrass the coach.
Same with the Daniel Ruffin incident in 2008, and the lowly speeding ticket by Theron Wilson that involved a him and a passenger getting a zero tolerance citation. Again, that was played up into a big deal by Joanne Glasser, and lead to her running Ken Kavanagh out of town. Or recall the Will Egolf incident, also under Geno Ford that played out quite publicly.
And there were other incidents which I will not list. Maybe you weren't around for all those prior events, but they were all handled starkly differently by previous administrations.
