Waiver granted to allow basketball instruction by non-coaching staff members this summer
June 3, 2021 10:40am

The Division I Council Coordination Committee on Wednesday approved a waiver that will allow two non-coaching staff members in basketball to conduct instructional, on-court activities during the eight-week summer access period. No more than four coaches and noncoaching staff members combined can participate in these activities at any time. This action also allows the noncoaching staff members to participate in skill-instruction activities as practice players.

The change will be effective starting June 4 and applies to the 2021 summer access period only. The committee supported the changes due to the increased need for countable coaches to be recruiting after a dead period that lasted more than a year and the likely larger number of new players on teams for 2021-22 because of the change in transfer rules

Summer update...
Bradley returning players Ja'Shon Henry, Ari Boya, Darius Hanna, Jayson Kent, Connor Linke, and Riley Burger, as well as new enrollee Connor Hickman are on campus for the summer session. three other new guys, Malevy Leons, Terry Roberts, and Mikey Howell, will be arriving shortly, as probably the 13th scholarship player will, who will be named soon.
Three other foreign guys, Ville Tahvanainen, Rienk Mast, and Maxime Okono aren't in the US yet, and will not arrive until later in the summer as they are participating with their countries' national teams.
Summer classes have already started, and team workouts start next Monday. And as in the past, the players have access to the practice and training facilities, and will be playing in the gym.
