Henderson took over for T.J. Otzelberger in 2019 at SD State. He was an assistant under Oetzelberger. It was his first college head coaching job, and has done a great job there. In 6 seasons, he's won 4 regular season titles and 2 tournament championships in the Summit League, and was Coach of the Year twice.

Good for him. Most of us remember Ali Farokhmanesh. He was a high scoring guard at Kirkwood Community College and got a scholarship to Northern Iowa, where he played in 2008-09 and 2009-10. He was a pretty good shooter, and averaged just under 10 ppg each of his two seasons at UNI. But he is best remembered for his shots that helped UNI upset Kansas in the 2010 NCAA Tournament.

He played 3 years professionally, then got into coaching. He was an assistant at Drake first, then moved with Niko Medved to Colorado State in 2018. Medved has moved on to Minnesota now, so Farohkmanesh gets his first head coaching job at the age of 36.

surprising report that highly successful Alabama head coach Nate Oats is expressing interest in the open Maryland spot because he's frustrated with the "revenue sharing" requirement in the SEC, where the most successful schools like Alabama are required to share some of their revenue with less successful schools.
Bobby Hurley also interested in the Maryland job.

Former Bradley assistant Drew Adams is now hired as new assistant coach at Indiana (where he previously served as an assistant under Tom Crean in 2009-11)
Watch for a few Indiana kids to follow - maybe Ryan Conwell, possibly Flory Budunga, and if he gets a waiver, Connor Hickman...

Some coaching news the last couple days-
Maryland head coach Kevin Willard leaves to take the Villanova job.
And in a bit of a surprising move, Texas A&M head coach Buzz Williams leaves to take the Maryland job.

The most mentioned name to fill the Texas A&M job now is Chris Beard, the 2nd year head coach at Ole Miss. He is a graduate of Texas, and has previously coached at 7 different schools in Texas, including Texas Tech and at Texas. He was fired by Texas in the middle of his 2nd season there in January, 2023, when his fiance' accused him of a violent attack and he was arrested and charged with felony assault. But no big deal, the charges were dropped when the fiance' recanted and refused to press charges. 2 months later, he was hired by Mississippi.
Other names floating around include Illinois' Brad Underwood and Texas Tech's Grant McCasland, both of whom have ties to Texas. I've also seen Porter Moser's name mentioned.

in a bit of irony... Doug Gottlieb ended up 4-28 & is getting hit hard in his first year as head coach...
This midseason recruit, Levy, did end up averaging 8 ppg, 6 rpg, albeit with pretty low shooting percentages,
but now he's in the portal along with four of Green Bay's other key players. They will have a total rebuild again and it probably will be one every year as well. The portal does not treat league basement dwellers well.
