I lived near Main and University in 1970, and I vaguely recall that there was a Velvet Freeze somewhere near there, but I don't know the exact location.
I do not recall it looking like that photo with the large ice cream cone on a pole.
My first check from my first job was from Peo. Heights Library and I spent all on two wonder dogs, hot fudge sundae, and a root beer. Good old days for sure.
This building looks very similar to the Squeaky Clean Laundromat located behind the World Cafe restaurant at Main St. and University. Across from the now closed Avanti's.
Thanks coach... current google street view has a truck blocking the front of the building. Could this be the building in question?
